You don't need a monster pc to run this game at 60 fps. I built 2 for friends at 800 each. Even just upgrading your gpu to a gtx 1060, which is like 250 would be a huge improvement.

You say it like 800 is nothing.
Not everyone has the same currency and not everyone has this amount of money. If a PC costs more than 300 it's a monster PC to me because it's expensive.
Pretty sure I'm not the only one not able to afford that, OP could also be one of us.
And to OP - I also struggle a lot lately with some FPS drops. And for some reason housing areas are now taking ages to load, I even stopped teleporting to my house much.

Save up money for a bit. 50 a month for a while and you can build a nice pc. It's not that much. You say it like 800 is nothing.

I don't make much, but I funnel a tiny amount into a seperate savings for when I'm ready to spend it on myself.
A 300 computer is not anything but a web browsing machine, just buy a chrome book at that point lol, especially if its a prebuilt, those have little to no room for upgrades later on.

It's "not that much" to you maybe. I earn around 100 per month right now and would be able to save maybe 10 maximum. That's only 6 and a half years of saving! Good luck me.Save up money for a bit. 50 a month for a while and you can build a nice pc. It's not that much.

My "web browsing machine" I had before my current laptop was running FFXIV just fine, and some much heavier games like Overwatch or BDO.
It upsets me when people basically sound like everyone around is rich enough to afford good gaming PCs and if you're not then you shouldn't play cuz your computer is not for games.
I never had much trouble playing FFXIV and it's one of the things I loved about this game - how well it can run on low-end computers without looking horrible as well. But now the amount of lag increases and it's just sad.

The human eye can see above 24fps. This silly forum troll is going to derail this whole conversation, lol. The probably with gaming at 24 fps isn't that it's 24fps. It's that frames tend to spike. So if you're at 24 and you spike down to 14, or up to 34--you'll notice it. And that whiplash will cause eye fatigue. Where as if you're gaming at 60 fps and drop down to 50 or up to 70--you'll notice it a lot less.

Having not noticed anything change on my end. I find that it would be weird for Square-Enix to push any graphical enhancements knowing that the PS4's limitations are static. They're constantly catering to that crutch out outdated technology. Which in a way allows people with older computers to still enjoy the game. But the bottom line is that any changes should affect both platforms, and if half their playerbase is on the PS4--they won't want to nuke all of their frame rates, so it might be something on your end as well.
You don't need a "Monster PC" to enjoy the game without drops.
If you're feeling issues with your game, check your CPU or your GPU, find which is holding you back.
Can't afford it now? Save up early!
My rig is midtier; no FPS issues outside of large patch days, however, my GPU is pretty LQ now so going to save up myself
I'd also enjoy is SE did increase the graphics/textures of the game.

You can buy a Powerspec 1510 Laptop from Microcenter for $1200 that will run the game at Max and it comes with an SSD and 16gb of ram. It has a GSYnc Display and an Nvidia 1070 GTX. They have 6 month 0% financing available, $200 a month for 6 months.
With the cost of GPU's these days, it's almost better to just get a laptop and external monitor/kb/mouse.
It's almost as cheap to go prebuilt now as custom built, custom built might run you a lot more.
You can get a 1080 now for $450 though, so you can build a pretty decent computer for <$1000 if you have monitor already and peripherals already.

PFFT I'm happy with my 60 FPS on my PS4 pro. I upgraded from my baby PS4 2 months ago. >.> I got a big bro pro now.

My PC graphics card died on me ( gtx 960 2GB ddr5) and the Motherboard won't turn on unless there is a graphic card that can power the Motherboard on. So right now I'm using an old PC to play FFXIV, until I get a better card
A leveno 420 office PC, specs are:
Core2quad, 6GB of ram, GT640 card and a coolermaster 500w PSU ( it came with the PC)
I have to put everything on low settings and play on a windowed screen but I pretty much get 45 FPS and can do pretty much everything. FFXIV is very optimize.
Also in system configuration, you can set " Character and Object quality to low or normal. This will limit how many characters show up on screen

Did not had the time for my concerns, that at job they provided me a PC with specs of my choice as soon as I told my pc cannot keep alive much longer.
Teleworking goodness. The bad is, when I do teleworking, will find myself working twice as in office. The usual "5 minutes to complete this" and after 5 minutes you look at the clock and they were a couple hours lol.
