Personally I don't care for identity if I have to clip everything just so that I can say "YES, THIS IS WHM". I'd rather have it play more fluidly. Yes, lore-wise AST should be the faster healer. But up until a few months ago the cast times weren't much shorter than WHM's. So they were the same up until then. Why not make them the same again if it benefits WHM a lot? It doesn't matter anyway because they are so similar already. They would have to rework them from the ground up.
I'm all for difference between healers, but AST getting absolutely needed QoL buffs but WHM not because of "their identity" is wrong in my eyes. They could also emphasize the speed of AST even more by making Benefic instant on a Synastry target or whatever (just something that quickly came to mind, don't take that idea too seriously). Then they could give WHM the same WoL buffs without making it too fast compared to AST.
