4.4 dungeons are a step in the right direction

It only took 4 patches, but finally, it's starting to feel like we've gotten actual expert dungeons. I don't remember a single level 70 dungeon whose final boss wiped my party in the first week, until now. The Burn's second boss almost did my group in, and the final boss took us out three times before we all got on the same page. Same with the optional dungeon - the final boss was interesting enough that we wiped once before figuring it out.

I like that. Finally, some dungeons that actually have earned their title of lvl 70 expert. Or at least, that's the right direction to be going in. I do hope that future dungeons that end up in the expert roulette continue this trend. This is what I had hoped for when asking for a gradual step-up in difficulty.

Many one shot the dungeon without fear of dying. Those in 360+ thought the place just meh. I know for sure once people get the *new* gear. it will be snore fest once again as always.

Oh I agree that once more people start gearing up and become familiar with the mechanics, it'll be as easy as previous dungeons. I'm just saying that it is refreshing that the dungeons have a little bit of a bite to them for once. I'm not a good player by any means, but even I found the previous level 70 dungeons after Ala Mhigo to be rather lacking for something being labeled as a level 70 expert dungeon. Obviously, YMMY, but that's just my own opinion about it. I hope this trend continues and the next dungeon doesn't regress back to being faceroll on patch week.

Heh...nothing beats 2.1 dungeons to this very day, with pharos being so difficult that the first boss was nerfed and still kicked your behind, and the final boss making healers cringe and leave the place immediately.
Also Copperbell HM, with the final boss being super hard if you hadn't at least one ranged dps...that was fun!
And Haukke Manor, oh boy, the final boss required positioning and a lot of burst dps, it was so thrilling and exciting.

These new dungeons will be slightly harder for the next few days, but in a matter of weeks everyone will breeze through them without breaking a sweat.

Now if we could only get legitimate "savage dungeons" perhaps...

pharos wasn't hard, it was badly tuned, means if you was overgearing the dungeon (that was means for be done in i50) you was screw by the first boss add spawn. and if you remember we had largely the time to get full i70-90 before the 2.1 come out...
means the dungeon was badly designed and not reflecting how the game must be tuned. if you plan the dungeon to be done in a certain range of ilevel you don't make it almost impossible to be done if you are at the top tier of the ilevel of this tier.

None of these dungeons are even half as hard as they were in the past. I barely remember running out of time to complete them, nor doing it in the last seconds. I wouldn't like to push that on everyone, but maybe we could get Extreme versions of the dungeons, as someone suggested, that were as hard as the old ones (prior to the nerfs, I mean). If they ask me, I would even link them to the relic so that we can get rid of the mindless grind (like the original ones in ARR with Titan HM and all? Yes, please!). It would be easier to implement and way more fun than Diade... I mean... Eureka.
yes the dungeon are not extremely hard, actually i found them quite easy, outside the last boss of the burn that is clearly a healer fight and recquire to be good at avoid aoe... is not that hard. the trouble is most player have take the habit to overgear the dungeon expert and make them hit the wall when the mechanic ask to play correctly.

Yeah....maybe...well too bad because now all dungeons are so easy that I can tank bosses in Deliverance and spam fell cleave ad nauseam: if they actually cared they would've made better-tuned dungeons and not just cakewalks.

At least Pharos required some planning and some legitimate usage of brain cells to get through it ESPECIALLY because it was badly tuned.

Haven't done the optional dungeon yet, only The Burn. I overall liked the dungeon's final boss. I found the final boss slightly too hard (we wiped 3-4 times), but the ones before it comparatively far too easy. I would have preferred if all three bosses had some consistency in their difficulty, leaning more towards the difficult side.

The trash was really boring, though.

Overall, though, I give the dungeon a vague score of: "it's an improvement."

as an avid ff4 fan i loved the final boss and realized quickly that were was a mechanic involving the mist form coming up, i was right and the only one who screwed that up. still had a blast though and its probably gonna be one of the few im gonna enjoy tanking in

I would really like to see them go back to 2 per patch. I've only done burns it was a nightmare for my wife to heal it as I started playing tank main in 4.X and she has been playing tank main since 2.x
She WHM as her 2nd job and we wiped on the final boss a few times but we got the clear and it was new enough content that everyone was just happy.

The bosses have some mechanics that are actually dangerous this time around, but I'd still like if there was less trash mobs in exchange for them being tougher and actually requiring some thought to deal with.
