Escalating skill requirements & FFXIV future

What I really wonder is how some people even manage to beat some of the job quest instanced battles.
I remember the level 30 THM one giving me so much trouble, I had to spam potions and Blizzard 2 to win it. BLM level 60 one (for SB) was the same... maybe I'm just trash at BLM...

I think some of those are tricky because they're not always clear in what your meant to do..

Even more so for tank and healer roles where your role on the quests is basically dps some trash.... Or the dps ones where it's just kill some circle to stop it summoning adds. But oh it's way over there in the distance and easily missed in a little speach bubble from an npc.

A lot of the class quests seem to have you away from the action so to speak doing some little task or other.

Other note the op has apparently played loads of mmos. So why is this one the most braindead easy mmo there is. Too difficult? A lot of battles in this game I swear you'd have to try harder to screw up to the point of failure than to succeed
