It...could help to say where in the first part are you getting hung up on. I did have to do that part twice, because I got caught up on ***SPOILERS*** the adds she summoned,but when I started again, I just focused on the adds when I got to that part. Plus, I knew that was my fault, not SE's. I just corrected myself. I didn't ragequit. :/

To be fair, a lot can happen over 18 years. A good friend of mine has been playing MMOs since probably before 2000, but in recent years his skill has gone downhill as he is slowly losing his eyesight. Just because the OP is struggling now doesn't mean he always was.

That being said, I think the Echo already solves the issue. There is nothing wrong with having parts of the MSQ that require some sort of skill check. The Echo does a good job of ensuring that everyone will eventually be able to progress past it, even if they've got to wipe a few times before they do so.

QFMFT!!!!!! LOL LOVE THIS. People need to STOP telling us your supposed playtime it does NOTHING FOR YOU. OP I am not the one to say the game needs to be harder or easier mostly.. cause I keep seeing people die to shit on a normal bases so I gave up on harder content. Or things like Rath happen and NOONE I met uses the normal strat and cheese it anyway cause it's too hard. I will say tho asking for nerfs isn't goign to make that better. I don't want to say try harder - fuck git gud... DARK SOULS ISN'T HARD!!! you want hard. Go play the FIRST version of Devil May Cry 3!! I WILLL NEVER LET THIS GO!- but I do want to say don't give up I died 3 times and one of the mbeing that stupid glitch in the sceond fight where he doesn't do his super move and is unkillable at 1%. If alot of these freaking noobs can get to endgame and die to orange aoe markers that take an hour to pop.. then someone like you who found the forums should be able to do it no problem. Just be like older games and try again. You got this.

Sorry but the difficulty of the msq cannot be compared to ex or savage. Not being elitist, this is the simple truth. The duty isn't super easy but it most certainly does not require raiding skills to complete it.

I don't understand the purpose of threads like this. They aren't going to nerf any encounters in the game, especially ones that are tied to the MSQ and have lore reasons for their difficulty unless something in the encounter is broken or tuned incorrectly and neither scenario applies to this part of the MSQ. Like other's have stated, fail enough times at it and you'll eventually get it thanks to the echo, but asking for them to dumb down content because you personally can't do it isn't the answer.

It was overtuned. Even with a perfect party, doing exactly what they were suppose to, the dragon will still reach the final barrier. Imagine if 1 healer didnt use some of the cannons because melee dps kept getting step on.

I am by no means a good or professional player and I was able to beat it with Pugs before they nerfed it. And it was nerfed WAY beyond what was needed and it was because of complainers, Pharos was another dungeon. Not only that but the game naturally nerfs its own content through the vertical gear progression. They also took out the elemental wheel between 1.0 to 2.0 because it "would confuse players and lead to one job being preferred over another" so this team has clearly put accessibility and ease over any kind of challenge.

Yoshi-P definitely told you to GIT GUD. Follow the instructions. The game is supposed to be challenging and rewarding to give you a sense of accomplishment.

Dumbing things down repeatedly takes the joy out of it for everyone else. Just better yourself and you'll enjoy the game more, and the people playing with you in dungeons won't have to struggle as much to carry your burden. Thanks.
