    Some gathering questions

    So I'm still fairly new to gathering and just decided to get serious. I've got the yellow scrip gear and I've started buying yamashi HQ stuff. Got my main hand pick/hatchet as well as the hat/body piece so far

    So first I was wondering what some good HQ rotations are. I can find a lot of info on crafters but no on gatherers, and the gatherer info is from a year ago. I'm mainly gathering the new nodes and most of my money is coming from evergleam ore and yanxian cotton bolls right now. Seems the non HQ prices in general are plummetting also so I really need those HQ mats!

    Also what should I be melding for? I know you need to hit certain breakpoints but I'm not sure what. I don't know what rotation I will use so I dont know how much GP I need, and I also dont know what the gathering/perception breakpoints are either

    Any info would be much appreciated!

    Probably the most important breakpoint (Aside from the minimums needed to gather the new mats at all) is 1550 perception to be able to get HQ on the new 4.4 materials. 1650 gathering is also nice (Though rather meld intensive) as it'll let you get 95% success rate on everything so you can boost it up to 100%.

    800 GP with food can also make gathering aethersands a fair bit more efficient as it'll let you squeeze in an extra gathering attempt (Shoot for 780 GP without food so you can bump it up to 800 with some dirt cheap antelope stew from a vendor).

    HQ relies on perception. HQ Konpeito = perception + 68 and 21 GPs.

    I have perception 1582 which gives me 13% HQ odds on the new nodes. HQ Konpeito bumps me to 15%.

    HQ rotation: SVII, unearth III or leaf turn III, BH II on each strike until out of GPs.

    Looks good save for a lack of GP melds.

    I find 830 GPs ideal for the two star nodes but less important for the three star ones.

    Does anyone know how much gather you need for x4 yield with bountiful yield on the new nodes?

    Also I overmelded my gear. I have 1550 perception, 1650 gather and 720 GP without food now

    It's not actually possible to get +3 on the 3* items as far as I've heard, at least not with the current gear.

    Ok I've been doing this for a while now and it seems like HQ arent worth that much more than NQ, usually 10-50% more. I can use leaf turn for a +30% chance but it means losing out on 2 items for a total of 13. However, If I go field mastery I/sharp vision I for 100% success, followed by blessed harvest II/King's Yield II for the bonus 2 items I get a total yield of 15 but less HQs. But I can also use bountiful harvest II/Bountiful Yield II twice for an extra 4 yield, resulting in a guaranteed 19 items, 10% of which on average will be HQ.

    What's more, if I'm on a node with +1/+2 gather attempts not only am I looking at 22/25 items respectively, but if I put my bountiful yield/harvest II on the final ones then with brunt force/deep vigor I'm getting 5/10 guaranteed HQ items out of those nodes, plus a 10% chance on the other 5 swings I get.

    It just seems like leaf turn/unearth isn't viable when I can instead be using blessed harvest/kings yield, and yet every thread seems to recommend the HQ route and never mentions blessed harvest/kings yield II. Why is that? Are HQs just worth more outside cerberus? Or are those rotation specifically for patch day?

    Ah ok, +3 is the most then? I think next time I will probably go for enough gather to 100% with the 15% bonus which should be easy to achieve, just enough perception for a chance of a HQ, and then spam GP to let me use kings yield/blessed harvest II and a bountiful harvest/yields IIs. For all I spent on this HQ gear and melding I've only really gotten an extra bountiful yield/harvest out of it, whereas I could've spent probably 8m less and gotten the same result with 1 less b yield/harvest
