    Cleansable Status Effects

So the other day, I and other party members got poisoned in one of the new 4.4 bits of content. I want to say Arboretum (Hard). So I decided to use an Antidote to clear it and give the Healer one less thing to worry about, since I saw it had the curable line.

But even though the Antidote went off, I still had the status. Is this normal? Is there some kind of difference between statuses that can be removed with items and statuses that can't? I'm not entirely sure why this distinction even exists since it makes status effect items less useful than they already are.

Statuses that can be removed have a white line over them in the Party Menu and your debuff bar. Additionally, I think antidotes only cure Poison, while you may have been inflicted with something that looked like Poison. Not 100% though. You're honestly better off using your role skill that cleanses (Erase).

erase can only be used on someone else, sadly.

True, but with having all role actions, a quick Esuna is easy enough. Admirable to want to help, but if it doesn't work - /shrug

Just a visual for you. This be the white bar in question:

You make a good point. I assumed it was regular poisoning because of the icon, but they have shared icons between different status effects.

I should have clarified that the status I mentioned did have that white line. That's why I tried to remove it myself.

Also some enemies can reapply stuff like poison quicker than you can cleanse it, so it's often better to just heal through it and attempt to get rid of it if there is an opportunity to do so. Caster's Erase can be weaved in to their rotations, and Healers can Esuna when need be.

You can also use these potions on other people than yourself. Had you someone else targeted at the moment you were using the it?

Oh, good deal Every now and then I'll run into someone in a roulette that doesn't know which debuffs can be removed. Just wanted to help clarify

In hindsight, I don't think it was that debilitating, so I probably could've ignored it.

Nope! I don't think I was in item range of anyone else, either.
