ELIDIBUS (SPEAKING THE EORZEAN TONGUE).
Ascian dialogue is marked not only with their name, but the language they're speaking. (EORZEA or ANCIENT)
This helps them keep straight when to use the red-on-black text.

Well the English voice cast has changed fairly frequently for a number of reasons, resulting in characters getting new voice actors (Yugiri tragically being the most recent afaik), I'd say that'd be the most obvious answer. Unless of course the Japanese voice actor for Arbert is still actively voicing other characters.
That said, I'm leaning towards future Alphinaud... The only thing throwing me off that is the last line; "Throw wide the gates that we may pass!", Zodiark I assume would be singular, the Warriors of Darkness could throw out a 'we' though... Then again so could Alphinaud, if the plan is for the Scions from the worst timeline to swap places with the current Scions, hence the soul extraction... Of course it could just be the royal 'we', but the more I thought about future Alphinaud trying to stopSkyneta Flood of Light, the more I liked the idea... Obviously future Elidibus could help out with any timey-wimey magicks... We've had Warriors of Darkness already, time for the Scions of the Seventh Dusk? This head cannon also involves something happening to future Alisaie, hence her remaining unaffected... Certainly giving future Alphinaud cause to say screw it and mess with time/history... There's also something wonderfully enjoyable about a Sharlayan not just involving himself in history, but going a step further and straight up opting to alter it...
And yes, the Scions from the darkest most terrible timeline all have felt goatees...
EDIT: Oh, and I completely forgot, Alphinaud grandfather did kind of send some of use outside time to avoid the last Calamity... So he has a family history of pulling some timey-wimey stunts...
Actually thinking on that a bit... Papalymo copied Louisoix by sealing Shinryu, next up some Scion has to copy him with some time magic? 6.0 some Scion is going to become a Primal. Can't tell if that would be an interesting narrative to tread, or a predictable one...

Ohhhh~
I noticed they were speaking in red-on-black when it happened, but kind of forgot about it afterwards. (I didn’t think of it when they were back to normal text, anyway.)
I didn’t realise it was meant to be a different language, just that the Evil Shadow People get their own special evil shadow textboxes...
My first impression was that the voice belongs to one of the Twelve. The only ones whose souls were taken were those archons who prayed to the Twelve during the Bahamut calamity. Note that Lyse’s soul was not taken and that she was never actually an archon. That was her sister, Yda. (I can’t for the life of me find the timeline that says whether the Yda we see in the ARR opening cinematic is actually Yda or if it’s Lyse. Not that it matters, I suppose).
I’m probably wrong, because I don’t know every bit of lore. Just thought I’d share just in case someone can shoot me down or run with the idea.
There could be some credence to that possibility, though I believe it's been roughly determined that the real Yda was killed sometime before the point when the Archons first fought Gaius, and that it was at that point we first see Lyse assuming Yda's identity. If that is the case, then Lyse would have been the one to pray to the Twelve during the Calamity. Even if that's the case, it wouldn't be unlikely that Lyse could be soul-napped later on either. My first impression was that the voice belongs to one of the Twelve. They made a point in showing that Lyse’s Archon tattoo was just a glamour. We assumed its vanishing meant the glamour’s caster was dead, but what if there was more to it? It could be that the mark is tied to the soul calling somehow. So even if she does not end up going into a coma later on, I don’t think it is evidence against my theory.
Well, if the text the voice is speaking is a reference to the Tactics Warp Spell (and it being almost the same as the Tactics spell in all languages suggests that it is), that begs the question of what is being Warped and where they are being Warped to. Either something is coming through to Eorzea or people in Eorzea are being Warped somewhere else. Currently my money is on it being the Scions are being Warped somewhere else, just the person doing the Warping doesn't have the spell down completely yet. As in, it does one test run, and it does work correctly, so it tries again later and that still doesn't work. I would not be surprised if it's "cast" again in 4.5 and the spell works as intended this time...
