Let Players Buy/Trade Housing Again?

Multiple servers now have little to no housing available for returning or new players. The new system of lockouts after a plot is abandoned makes it all but impossible to acquire one as it typically just gets relocated into by an existing plot owner or you are competing with a dozen other people spamming the placard with no indication when it'll work. Obviously you want to avoid flippers who purchase plots strictly to resell. Couldn't you just limit it to people who have owned the plot a certain amount of months? Housing is pretty much a major feature for a lot of people playing the game and its unavailable to many.

This major feature is available to you on multiple smaller servers.

Making reselling easier - aka: removing the random timer wont make it easier for returning or new people.
People were asking for absurd amount of gil (and even real money...) - amounts of gil that you, as a returning or new player, most likely wont have to begin with.
Letting people sell houses again wont magically increase the amount of houses in the game either - an overpopulated server like Balmung will never have enough houses for everyone, as long as they stick to their current system.
Being able to just throw (maybe even real) money at it, isnt a fix.

Also it's rare that new players are able to even get on to Balmung, and generally if they do, it's usually alts or people that know the situation.

Trying to set conditions to allow certain privileged players to flip houses isn't going to solve anything. It's just going to bring back the old issues related to resellers (not that some of them don't still exist thanks to relocation not being subject to the timer).

If you want a house that badly, play on a world that has them available. We've got roughly 500 houses available on Coeurl and had about a dozen mediums for sale when I checked last week.

I agree that allowing reselling is a stupid idea. But come on now...of course housing is available on smaller servers. And you know precisely where housing doesn't mean anything? Smaller servers.

Balmung needs housing for the roleplay community that actually uses them on a daily basis. Switching to some other barely populated server in order to get a house that you're the only person that will ever be in is a ridiculous solution and always has been.

Do have to admit that's it probably the largest on the NA realms, though Mateus is close. There's an RP community here on Coeurl but it is on the small side.

I mean locked houses are even in the extreme minority, just use some else's house for your rp.

Join an FC, get an FC room. Join the Balmung housing discord. I've seen people find houses just last week, you just have to put effort into it. Whining that your way of using a house is the only viable/important way and it's meaningless elsewhere isn't going to win you many friends. 1) there are RP communities elsewhere even if they're apparently not large enough to matter to you and 2) people who don't RP still enjoy their houses. "Someone else seeing it" happens elsewhere and even if it doesn't isn't the reason I decorate my house.

Besides, a lot of people around you are RPers and there arent enough houses for all, why do you deserve one more than another RPer? They need to change the system and if they don't, you have to play within it. Allowing scalpers to charge upwards of 100 mil for smalls (which will happen) isn't fair to other players just bc you'd be willing to do it.

Stop pretending housing is only an issue on Balmung. It affects places like Mateus and Gilgamesh as you have seen as of late. This also means people can't even have a shot at specific plots they want even if the current owner(s) are planning to move. I think flippers are a lesser evil than people just not having plots at all.
