FF14 Constantly crashing after 4.4 update

Thank you for the updates everyone. I apologize that I haven't been able to respond, we aren't able to provide support over the weekend so we are catching up as of right now.

I want to explain that the suggestions given in my previous post have been successful in resolving this (or similar) issue. So I'm not just suggesting those for the sake of suggesting them. I don't want to skip over something that seems too simple that may actually be the solution. We can't replicate the error here, so we will have to rely on your feedback and results.

As there are many of you with slightly different error messages and circumstances, I'll try to get to you individually (but feel free to try any troubleshooting suggestions). I apologize if I can't get to you directly.

DirectX 11 mode isn't broken. It was added post-launch and DirectX 9 was kept to have a wider range of compatibility to accommodate different configurations, hardware and settings. Some people may have difficulty utilizing the DirectX 11 mode, so we suggest using DirectX 9 mode in that case.

all overlays disabled,
my documents folder completely clean,

EDIT: The game no longer gives the error message; only an instant crash

As a test, can you try lowering the graphics settings and entering one of the bad areas? Additionally, try running the game in borderless fullscreen or windowed if you normally use Fullscreen. If it's area dependent, it might be tied to a graphical setting that is prominent in that area. However, I'm not entirely sure.

That command prompt effectively forces every single dll file back to their 'default' settings, effectively removing any corrupted/broken files there. I should however state that after this I reinstalled Windows to see if that would work and it didn't.

Doing another reinstallation just in case but if the issue persists, will try dropping everything down / off and going to various areas to test what may trigger it.

SO after reinstalling for a 4th time, I do not seem to crash in previous areas. The only difference I know of, is that I never got any error when downloading all of the patches, which can be a gamble honestly. I'll do some testing and different areas to see though, to make sure.

Edit 1: Will try later today as well during higher populations to see if somethere has an issue in that fashion

I'm glad to hear that you have been able to play without the crash. Were you able to test the game a little more since this post?

Do you recall doing anything different this time around. I don't think reinstalling 4 times was the real solution.

I did try some testing, and even more specifically the areas that others had issues, mainly the gold saucer.
Things I did try:
- gold saucer area + the GATEs and NPC's spawning
- FATEs in normal areas
- Talking to NPCs
- Talking to MSQ NPCs and triggering various dialogue
- Taking the boat to the Doman Enclave ( this originally had a 100% crash rate for me)
- Borderless, Fullscreen, and windowed, various graphics settings.

I even used my old \my games\ffxiv settings so I wouldnt lose my old HUD and bindings, and was unable to replicate any issue.

I apologize (only partially :P ) that I am unable to recreate any crashing currently. I do agree that the constant reinstalling was technically not the solution, but all I can think of was that something was getting corrupted or broken due to myself losing connection is some fashion while patching. If I do have any other crashes in the same fashion, I'll reply ASAP.
