Alphascape Just Feels Out of Place (Spoilers)

I didn't get that feeling at all. I just saw him as a generic Yoshitaka Amano hero.

As I pointed out earlier, Omega-M is literally on the box of the FFXIV 1.0 Collector's Edition. It's art by Amano. People saying that it's related to Sephiroth are wrong aside from the fact that Amano did the art for both so there's similarities that way.

I assume Omega-F was designed to fit with the Omega-M aesthetic.

Oh, that is indeed him. Thanks for pointing that out. I knew it looked like an Amano character, just didn't know it was that one. Never saw that box art.

Oh I am aware, I am not sure why the first two turns are lumps of characters from particular games, and then the third turn is a hodgepodge of random bosses with a touch of original flair at the end.

Because Omega is a strong independent interdimensional machine and it need no consistency!

Honestly? I'm glad they went (mostly) original for Alphascape. FFVII fans are spoiled enough by SE already as it is.

It feels wrong. Why go do the former omega raids in numerical order (Delta was bosses from V, Sigma was bosses from VI), and then there is Alpha with the Final Fantasy I final boss, Midgardsormr from FFIV (even though XIV has its own Midgardsormr..), Omega from FFV, and finally some random humanoid named Omega-M.

Honestly they could have done something with VII. Not even asking for Sephiroth and Jenova here.. Just something like Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, and then Omega weapon.

Getting sick of SE withholding VII content just because they reserve it for when they are looking to hype something.

honestly 7 was a hot mess the story was meh at best the only good thing to come from 7 was sephiroth and SE knows it all of the ff7 kids are spoiled as all can be fact of the matter and no matter what website you look at the best game in the series as far as storyline was ff6

No need to get aggressive.

(1): SE didn't say anything about FF7, but they implied it via their use of FF5 and FF6 for the first two. They knew what the likely conclusion would be, and they went ahead and let people muse anyway, with no effort made to dispel it, no hints dropped.
(2) - (5): The storyline for any XIV raid is almost entirely malleable. SE could easily have thrown in Sephiroth or Emerald / Ruby weapons wherever they wanted. Whether or not Chaos is a 'better' choice is subjective. You're certainly entitled to feel that way, but it wasn't set in stone, and as I pointed out, SE provided a good bit of misdirection toward FF7. Say what you will about the tactic, but backlash is fairly predictable.
(6): Where did I say anything about my emotions or assumptions? I'm supporting others here, not speaking for me personally. Like I said, I found this entire raid storyline to be goofy to the point of interfering with my enjoyment of the overall content. I couldn't care less about what bosses they choose to use. I'm also entirely within my rights to voice my feelings wherever I want, as are others. Making attempts to shut others up is rude and uncalled for.

TLDR translation: "I wanted FF7 bosses. I am now angry that I did not receive what I wanted."

If you followed story it made perfect sense. At no point did they foreshadow FF7 content. You only have yourself to blame for hyping yourself up for nothing.

A good lesson to take away from this. Temper your expectations until you see what you're actually getting.

I would hazard a guess you that "Alphascape" is called as such because story-wise, it's about discovering who the "Alpha" (i.e. the strongest, #1) of the tournament is. Then this is continued by discovering who is stronger: the WoL or Omega.

Also, as I recall, there were other groups, were there not? The fights between the WoL and the Sigmascape/Deltascape bosses weren't the only ones going on. So it's possible that Betascape got bested by Sigmascape, and Gammascape got bested by Deltascape, then the WoL fights the winners of those battles. Or something like that.
