However when you go to a restaurant for a steak, you ask for the steak and pay for it. In the case of FFXIV you're paying a fee to access the game, not to be entitled to whatever features you see fit. I swear this is one of the many reasons I hate this community so much.

This is true. Player housing really wasn't something that is a requirement but an added feature. That and right now they're working on bigger things at this time. At least giving us this much right now is something to be grateful for, but doesn't mean we can't expect something bigger. It will just come in due time is all.

EDIT: I'm hoping someone from the team might read this and give us a few more bits of insight on the housing like what we should expect, and if others can visit us. The big deal for me is if I can invite others over to visit my room. I guess from an RP perspective, having a room at one of the inns is a big thing I've been waiting to get for a very long time. But not being able to invite a couple people over kind of dampens the whole feel. Either way, I'm still happy to have at least this for now. I gotta go to sleep so I'll check back up on this topic after I get home from work tonight.

Don't get me wrong, I was mostly being sarcastic. I'm happy we're getting SOMETHING out of the rooms but at the same time the whole "ungrateful" schtick is getting old. We're all allowed to criticize within reason.
