I guess the actual core of the change is that you can renew the timer before it runs out. Previously you just got a "companion already summoned" message if you tried to use gysahl greens, even if you only had seconds left on the clock, and the chocobo had to leave or be dismissed so you could re-summon it.

That's a good change. It's just not what the patch note description sounded like it was.
