I can see your point, TC. However, I find the jump puzzles for this GATE rather enjoyable. They are not all that difficult and there is little fear or reliance on invisible corners and platforms edges.

Only difficulty I had was running it as a ninja. The extra run speed threw off my timing until I got used to it.

As i said previously, ive always gotten challenge log credit when ive done LoF. I collect my statues and get to the exit. Ive always exited by interacting with the goal after collecting it. Ive also seen that the log doesnt update while youre inside the instance, but it did once i left. But can i prove that it isnt buggy and some people havent been having issues? Of course not.

I do wonder if this is it. Maybe if you choose "duty finder-> leave" then it doesn't count? I like to get to the top before I go off on too many tangents chasing the cactuars, and then leave when I'm done. So it could very well be that I'm not getting the completion because I left via a different means. Personally, I think that one of LoF's biggest draws is that you have a lot of freedom in what objectives you pursue first, so I think they should make it count both ways (if this is the issue), but it's also not the end of the world. As i said previously, ive always gotten challenge log credit when ive done LoF. Nah, b/c I've always waited for it to end. And I'm not checking the log before it ends either, but once I'm back out in the saucer.I do wonder if this is it. Okay, so, from the patch notes "An issue wherein leaving Leap of Faith from any location other than the goal prevented it from counting towards completion credit for the 'Close the Gates' challenge." Now, I never left on my own before the timer ran out, but I did always walk away from the goal to try to get more cactuars. So, I'm cautiously optimistic that maybe this will solve the issue I've been having. Will post again once I see.
**UPDATE**
And there it is. Apparently the problem I've been having is that it wasn't enough to wait until the timer ran out instead of just leaving on your own. There was a glitch that you also had to stay at the goal for challenge log credit. Just completed, went back for more statues, and got Close the Gates credit when it was over. (Still need to hear from others, since it sounded like some people were having issues other than the one I was having, but my problem, at least, is resolved.)

I'm new to the game and just went to the Golden Saucer for the first time last night. Coming from WoW, I was completely blown away with the whole idea of having a casino/amusement park to go to. The jump puzzle event was the only event I did last night and had quite a bit of fun doing it. I could see after doing it week after week it might get old but not because its too difficult. I thought it was fun.

I'm not really a fan, and I definitely wish they'd replaced Skinchange or one of the other jump puzzles for this one, but I'm not overly worried about it. I mostly only run GATEs for the weekly challenge log, and just doing a quickie version of leap of faith to just reach the exit isn't so bad. I just wish they'd reign in LoF's frequency a bit. Its way too common right now

While I like that it's random now, which shows up when, I wish they'd institute one rule: no back-to-backs. I think that would make it a lot better, because for people who are doing their challenge logs you're likely to be in there for an hour or two just to knock it out and no doubles would mean you'd at least see something different every other.
