An unexpected error occurred. See images.

While playing last night, I had the dx11 error occur while in the process of teleporting to Mor Dohna. Since then I have tried to reenter the game and have received multiple errors upon trying to load game data. I am able to log in, select my only character from character selection screen, but while the load screen to enter game the error happens.

Steps I have done to correct:

    1. Stopped any unnecessary programs from running at start up.
    2. Made sure only programs running are 360 Total Security, STEAM client and FINAL FANTASY XIV.
    3. Have deleted saved folder from My Documents>My Games.
    4. Have turned off Direct X 11 in the config options of game launcher prior to logging into game client.
    5. Have reset settings through config options of game launcher prior to logging into game client.
    6. Have set all graphic settings to lowest possible to halt any possible overburden on GPU.
    7. Have checked for any possible Windows updates and GPU updates (all updates have been completed with no updates available prior to this error occurring).

    Information on PC and Game:

    1. I play on a PC.
    2. I run my system through a wireless system.
    3. My game client runs through STEAM.
    4. All updates are current prior to error and no updates available to download since error occurred.
    5. No unnecessary programs running while playing FFXIV.

I have not done a full unistall and reinstall as of yet. This would be a last resort option if no other options are left to correct this error code. The error continues even after turning off Direct X 11 but as a ffxiv.exe error.

Error code prior to turning off Direct X 11:

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

You mentioned that you only have one character, correct? Have you attempted to create a new character and do you run into the same problem when you log into that one?

As for other troubleshooting options, try some of the following:

-Set compatibility mode to Windows 7 (right click on the ffxivboot.exe file and select ‘Properties.’ Then select the ‘Compatibility’ tab and choose Windows 7).

-Make sure that any anti-virus software they have has the appropriate exceptions

-Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

If these do not resolve the issue, I'd suggest reinstalling the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
