Possibility of our combat skills becoming obsolete?

With my monk, The Forbidden Chakra and Tornado Kick are a staple. And so is Riddle of Fire. I LOVE them. But soon, the next expansion will come out and I'm worried these skills will be replaced by complicated ones... What do you think of this?

I don't know why you're so worried about this. A huge amount of staple skills from ARR still exist today.

EDIT: Just saw your join date, I guess you might be a new player. Anyway I don't think the next expansion is a cause for worry in this case.

I don't expect them to make combat more complicated. I think they'll do the opposite, like making combos a single button like in PvP.

And they probably won't add that many new skills if they can help it. They'll probably just do something boring like get rid of role actions and then give us different versions of them as "new" skills.

Oof, you couldn't say ED either since we have Essential Dignity, too.

On-topic: They learned back in HW that adding more skills is a pain for the players, so for SB we had ours updated via Trait rather than making them useless (as was the problem for WHM and Stone). I expect we'll get our next "tier" of skills the same way.

To be honest I don't think we can predict just what they will do in the next expansion. I would just wait till more info is known and not worry about it.
