    Scenario Quest Guide Icon

The Scenario Quest Guide in the upper left corner of the screen has an icon with a red blaze ring around what seem to be two footprints. It looks similar to the Scenario Quest "!" icon, but this one is red and has footprints.

What does it signify? Where can I find info on all the icons used in the game, please?

I think the red footprints are just an artistic thing to put on the quest guide. You won't ever see any quests showing that icon.

Also the orange (!) icon underneath is telling you that you have a conjurer class quest available, or will change to reflect whichever class you currently have equipped. (If you are up to date on class quests, on PS4 at least, there will instead be a line there saying [Touchpad]: confirm destination. I'm guessing there's just no second message on PC.)

If you click on either quest, or use the touchpad to move the cursor onto it and press X, you'll bring up a map of where your next objective is located.

I'm not sure if there's a guide to all the icons and statuses (if that's what you're after) but it would be very useful. You can put the mouse pointer over an icon to get a description of it, but it's hard to do that in combat.

If you're just meaning quest icons, there are three main types:
    - the Main Scenario quests
    - "Blue" quest icons with a (+) sign, which are important sidequests that will unlock some sort of extra feature. This includes class/job quests.
    - yellow icons, which are low-priority sidequests.

Yellow sidequests will still reward you with things like new gear, so I think it's worth doing them as you go. But don't go running off to distant map locations because you can see quests there - they're designed to be done alongside the MSQ, so stick to ones in the area where the story is currently taking place. It will send you to the other places later.

If your character level is getting too far ahead of the story level (ie. the level written on the "title card" for the quests) it's a good idea to have a second class that you can 'share' EXP with instead of putting all of it into the one class. If you enjoy playing as conjurer, arcanist is quite similar, at least to begin with.

I could be mistaken, but im like 90% sure that the icon being red means you cant do the quest yet. That usually means either your level is too low, or you havent completed a pre-requisite quest yet.

So THAT's what the second quest is from. I couldn't find it in my journal, and didn't understand what I was supposed to do. Thanks.

The primary purpose of that piece of the display is to point you to pick up main scenario and class quests that you haven't put in your journal yet since, once you complete all of the main scenario quests available, you wait till the next patch adds more and wouldn't want to have to figure out where to go to get the next one. And of course with the class quests, you have to level up enough to be eligible for the next and they eventually send you to many different places. So it's really handy for not having to try to remember where you left off five levels ago and such.

It doesn't include buff / debuff statuses, but most other icons are listed here:

    Thanks (and also to Canadane).

An unused "Lore quest" icon? Interesting. I hope it will get used sometime and not be left abandoned.

Also I've never quite understood what the "queuing for DF" icon is supposed to be. It looks like of like a table? or a card? Anyone got a different interpretation of it?

There's a separate "trial adventurer" icon too. I don't know why they're not using it - unless the new adventurer 'sprout' gets higher priority and you can't see it? It would be helpful to mark free trial players since other players can send them tells but they can't reply, and the non-trial player doesn't get any kind of system alert about that. (A few times as a trial player, I had to actively go looking for people who sent me messages, because I could only respond using /say.)

(And I find it quite amusing that Yoshida actually has his own special icon!!!)

It's a hexagon (like the rest of the party symbols) with a ticket cut out of the top left side, like "take a number".

I thought it was like a ballot box. Like put your name on a slip of paper, put it in the box, and then the system randomly picks who and what duty you get.
