    Duty Finder QoL Suggestions

Change Class button on queue pop

Replaces the 'Join' button with 'Change Class' when your class is different from what you queued up with. Clicking the button would show a drop-down list with any gear set you have for that class, with sets under the required item level being greyed out. Selecting a gear set switches to it and confirms your participation.

Clickable notification when friend/FC member joins Duty Finder

A small, fading notification (maybe 5 seconds default, changeable in settings; moveable) to notify you when someone in your social circle joins Duty Finder, what they queued up for, and what roles their party needs. Clicking the notification brings up a window with your classes, with the filled roles being greyed out. When selecting a class, a drop-down list of that classes gear sets appears, with sets lacking the required item level being greyed out. Selecting a set automatically merges you into the party & queue as the selected class/gear set (without changing your current class/gear set).

Checkboxes in the duty finder to make your party Open, By Request (showed in the notification), or Closed (no notification) would alleviate unwanted joining and requests, as well as those joining lowering the party's base item level/duty eligibility.

Options to turn on/off notifications for friends/FC as well as Novice Network/linkshells/nearby, or disabling the feature completely.

Clickable notification when current class is 'Adventurer in Need' role

Similar in function to the previous suggestion, but appears when your current class is a role in need. Separate notifications appear for each roulette. Clicking a notification brings up a window showing the gear sets you have for your current class, with sets below any item level requirements being greyed out.

Options to change fadeout time, as well as disabling the feature for specific roulettes/classes/gear sets, or disabling the feature entirely.

Unfortunately I don't think the change class button would be possible. At least not with duty roulette anyway. Even then you would still be stuck with whatever Role you registered as. You couldn't switch to Tank or Healer from DPS as the system has already selected members for those roles.

I think the point (if I understood it correctly) was to quickly change to the class you queued as.

For instance, if I queue for a duty as a Ninja, while waiting I might switch to something else to do FATEs, or crafting, or whatever. With the current system, when the duty pops I select wait, then open the character window and its gear set list to change to Ninja, then close those and go back to the duty window to select Join.

Palikkus's suggestion would just streamline that process. Since DF already knows I need to be on NIN to join, it could just show me my NIN gear sets and let me select from there, without the character window involved and with the gear set list condensed to just the applicable ones.

I've seen other variations of this suggestion before, but most people just suggest it as having DF automatically change us to the right class/job when we join. That version ignores the fact that DF only knows the job we want to use and not the gear we want to use. So this version of the suggestion adds the part about selecting from a list of our gear sets for the relevant class/job.

    I like the idea.

How about just adding gear sets to hotbar/crossbar for easy access?

Okay, I get what your saying now about class change on duty finder. Now I don't know this for sure but I think all gear sets are saved on the client side and I don't know if they have any tags so the server can tell which of your gear sets is what you registered in duty finder with. I think it only registers the job and level but I don't know that for sure. So optimally speaking I think the best way to go about it without doing a lot of work would just have the wait command plus maybe chanage the join command with one to auto open your character menu. Also, Balmung points out a really good one as you can do that. I used that method a lot back when I needed to change between Miner and Botanist to get to the next gathering node spawn in time without manually changing it.
