YET ANOTHER way to fix current housing system

Not really a fix but more of a quality of life upgrade.

Write an approximate time window when the timer will expend on the placard. I know somebody here suggested to have that timer actually visible for everybody but I doubt they will do it because it will kill the point of having the timer in first place. But to have an approximate time, like from 10am to 2pm, will help people not spending whole day clicking while still regaining the reason why it got added in first place. You still will have that camp and RNG factor, it just won't be as major and long.

    Strike me now.

The point of the timer was to obstruct house flipping, which is partially does (stops flipping to new buyers but not to relocation). Having what time the plot will become available for purchase won't really change that. Anyone dumb enough to pay a flipper to relinquish a house would still have to fight against the several dozen or perhaps hundreds of players that would show up just before the purchase timer ended to compete for their chance to click the placard at the right moment.

The potential problem with having a known time is so many players showing up that culling begins and most of those present won't even be able to see the placard to interact with it. Imagine being in the ward and unable to do anything because the lag is so bad from all the players standing at the same spot. There's also the risk of the ward reaching capacity so anyone who already owns a house or apartment there won't be able to get to their house or apartment while all those other players are waiting for the timer to end and who then continue to mill around once purchased complaining that once again, they did not get a house..

It might shorten how long someone needs to camp but it also reduces their chance to be able to purchase as more players show up attempting to buy. There's no net improvement to the system.

Let's not have the developers waste time on things that don't create net improvements. Better for them to spend time on things that do create noticeable improvements, like increasing the supply of houses.

Yeah, like I said it's not a noticeable improvement neither its a net improvement. Its a QoL upgrade that will help people not to lose their sanity and spend unhealthy amount of hours in front of the screen clicking. It will still obstruct house flipping and the time at which house will be available will still be random. Only time window will change. Like currently it's up to 24h if I remember? My suggestion is to tone it down to 4h for example and make it visible.

Yeah, it might lead to more people camping at each placard in that time window but that will also mean you can do a few attempts at different houses and you won't have to spend countless hours clicking. Its a fair trade for me, Id rather battle with many other people rather than battle with uncertainty.
