    #90002 issue

    Hi,

I started playing the game few months ago without any problem. Yesterday, I noticed some lags (which never happened to me since the begining), very slight latency. I first thought it came from my side (local network, ISP, etc.), but it appeared that I had no such problem at this point (very fast internet, very low latency with my other online games, etc.).

Next day, when I logged into the game, I suffered from inadvertent deconnections (every 5 or 10 min) with the 90002 error code. The weird point was that I had no deconnection issue while staying idle, but when I started playing (using skills, going into dungeons, etc.)... Connection lost !

Could you please investigate on this point ? My researches showed me that this issue was quite common, but I still cannot understand where it comes from (in my context).

Here is some useful information :
    • Platform : PC Windows 7 64bits Professional
    • ISP ? Orange.
    • Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect (if any): Just the 90002 Error
    • Type of connection (wired or wireless): Wi-fi (with 5G repeater). Note that my box is on fiber-optic network.
    • Other programs running while the game is playing (if any): Nothing but system applications (anti-virus, etc.)
    • Frequency at which error occurs: It happened every 5 minutes on average. Being active in game seems to trigger the deconnection (idle state keeps me connected).
    • Everything you have tried to resolve the issue: PC reboot, repeater reboot, box reboot.

    Thanks !

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

It's difficult to discern where this issue stems from so we have a few different suggestions you can try:

Try connecting to your router with an Ethernet cable as opposed to Wifi. This can make the connection much more stable.

Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV (you can temporarily disable them while you try to connect as well).

Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040
Your ISP may forward these ports for you.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

The issue seems to have been solved by itself... Nothing changed on my side (I kept connecting using my wi-fi network). My ports rules policies were already fine. I still cannot figure out what happened exactly (as I didn't see any change with my ISP connection & local network).

Well, let's consider this issue as solved (since it was the first time I had it in 3 months). I will notify you whenever the problem becomes recurrent !
