Would it not be better to suggest them to increase the limit to 200 or something, likewise housing need an item space update now we add it, large need like at least 3-400 more as it go 200 cottage 300 medium 400 large now a day

That doesnt change a few problems that come with interactive items, though - food being eaten, even if its just supposed to be decoration; lamps and the like being turned on/off; painting being removed from frames, wallpapers from blank partions, fish and trimmings (both of which can be expensive and/or annoying to obtain) from fishtanks...
While I wouldnt mind an increased itemlimit - dont get me wrong here - that wouldnt fix these issues. Having a 100 more items to place in the FC-house isnt going to keep our resident "FC clown" (nice guy, just has an annoying humor once in a while) from eating the cake I put on the table with the intention of having that cake on that table, not an empty plate. There is currently no setting to prevent people from messing with these things - beside giving them a stern talking to.
If I'm not mistaken we can already give people the right to change music (aka: use the orchestrion - though I think everyone can interact with it, but someone who doesnt have rights will only see the playlist/what title is being played right now) aswell as things related to the guestbook (greeting; hiding/approving comments). Something like this is needed for other interactive items aswell.
Just has someone strip all the rare fish out of our fish tanks and replace them with BS fish.... some of those have stupidly rare windows only for someone to just flip them out.
The ability to change paintings and change fish needs to be a housing option to be disabled.
Except it's their house. too. Why are you not giving all your members a say in how the FC house is decorated?Just has someone strip all the rare fish out of our fish tanks and replace them with BS fish.... some of those have stupidly rare windows only for someone to just flip them out.

That is slightly sarcastic, by the way, though only slightly. The problem demonstrates why people who say "if you want a house, join a FC' are clueless. Control over the primary housing feature - decorating - is generally locked tight under officer control. Members aren't allowed to participate.
I suspect that SE won't change it for a couple of reasons. First, there's probably a code limitation. Second, it's the only way the general members have to participate in decorating their FC house.
That is a pretty weak argument, considering that we can already set permissions to place/remove furniture (even specific types of "furniture" aka retainers), to dye furniture, to use the orchestrion, to even enter the building in the first place - just to mention a few.Except it's their house. too. Why are you not giving all your members a say in how the FC house is decorated?

"Its their house, too" - sure, but right now I can block them from entering the house alltogether. Eating the food on display or taking the fishs out of the fishtank is not "participating in decorating". And if SE wanted every FC-member to have a default say in how the FC-house looks, they wouldnt haven given us the permission settings in the first place.
They've shown that they're able to implement permission settings like this and that they're willing to do so - maybe the code can only handle so many permission settings, who knows. But your second argument is just nonsense, given the permission settings we already have.
I 100% support this. I have a lot of food and drink items out in my apartment that I don't want people eating. Being able to turn interactivity on/off to keep people from eating the decorations would be wonderful!
If its in your apartment or your FC-room, no one but you is able to interact with it - so no one (except yourself) can eat it.
In your own house only you and your tenants can interact with things - again, visitors wont be able to touch the food.
...so the only "problem" are FC-houses where all members can interact with all interactive furniture - even if that allows for potential abuse or even innocent mistakes to happen. It would be very useful if we could have settings to prevent both.
And there is also the inverted case in which you do want people in the FC to both place and eat some food (like a birthday cake), while not giving them access to other things."Its their house, too" - sure, but right now I can block them from entering the house alltogether. Eating the food on display or taking the fishs out of the fishtank is not "participating in decorating". And if SE wanted every FC-member to have a default say in how the FC-house looks, they wouldnt haven given us the permission settings in the first place.
I learned something new today, thank you! That's pretty fantastic news as well. My wallet and required grinding time both thank you for the insight.
I posted this thread in 2018 and it's hilarious (in a bad way) that this issue still hasn't been addressed 4 years later...
