rdm are out dpsing drg and nin too, even if you take the raid dps of rdm, drg snd nin into account??
(but since the fights are new, rdm has a slight advantage, easier to "master" a fight than nin or drg??)

Well to be fair Nin dmg was never all too high to begin with in SB but their utility is what keeps them around.
I am not aware that RM does more dmg then Drg (if it is in fact true now) but what support Nin and Drg bring it would still be worthwhile to bring them in over Rm i would think.
Or that is what most groups are thinking is my guess. Once everyone knows the fights it will be sure be back to the norm so take Smn, Bard, Nin or Drg over RM
I am just stating this based on observations of the community
Red Mage can clear any of the content, it is if groups want it or not still
Is that a question, or a statement? Lol
RDM isn't going to replace DRG or NIN...ya know, ever. Unless we're talking a triple ranged composition then I suppose it could take a NIN's spot.
Nin is really only challenged by monk, and as long as drg is responsible for 5% of a bard's damage its not going anywhere.
As far as fourth slot jobs go, RDM is only better than mch for pdps right now.
just looking at the dps numbers atm , incl. raid contribution, rdm could replace any in the meta spot..
bu nin and drg buff others more, and players like to get buffed, so
Are you just looking at the pDPS on fflogs? That really only tells half the story. Last I heard Herokuapp was still unreliable too if you're looking at that instead.
I think you're exaggerating a lot when you say RDM could break into the meta.
I do not for one bit agree with the statement just looking at the dps numbers atm , incl. raid contribution, rdm could replace any in the meta spot..
Very much have to agree with gunner here. Is Red Mage in a better spot? Yes. Does it change the meta? No
Outside of progression i do not foresee anything changing even with Red Mage buffs when the other jobs still bring better support and damage
Wouldn’t trying to address the prevalence of the ‘phys meta’ be the most efficient way to make Red Mage (and similar jobs that aren’t as popular in high end content) more attractive?
I don’t know how/what they would do or if such a thing is even possible.
The buffs to Red Mage in 4.4 were cool, but as a PS4 players it’s hard for me to tell the difference between now and then
We i still enjoy healing as a rdm but FFXI RDM has giving me my fix, love The job there, hate the job here.I'd like to see you clear anything with rdms as healer lol the poor soul ... rdm and tank. Theres nothing in the rdm tool kit to claim a right as healer or even hybrid.
Whm having stone doesnt make it a hybrid dps
Mnk having a def stance doesn't make it a tank
Pld having clemency doesn't make it a healer
Rdm having vercure does not make it a healer!
Hybrid would mean it could choose its side of the coin. The only thing close to s hybrid in the game is a arcanist if you consider sch and smn as one class.
Theres no room for hybrids and as a rdm the last thing you want to do is being a forum healer and wait around for someone to take dmg then cast heal.
You have the right to post you opinion here and we have the right to tell you you are wrong.
Hopefully 5.0 give us a support role or something different
I love FFXIV but I don't see much if a difference if Summoner can res as well and do Better DPS than a RDM can. There isn't much difference between them except the chain spell, and better cure overall. Summoner just can do it better .
