I think they wasted a special 24-man raid "Tower Of The Gods" back in Heavensward where each party would go into a separate way to fight one member of the Warring Triad, while opening paths for another group, and you'd have to fight a crazy Regula at the top.

That would have been such a better nod to FFVI than simply pulling Kefka out of their hat.

I know I'd step over a mountain of corpses to put a giant eldritch tower on my lawn.

Dungeons are casual content, they'll never be anything more than that.

It will be absolutely nice, if dungeons are casual content. But to be honest, dungeons are beginner content. Even those "EXPERT"-dungeons are even more easier than any level dungeon. In my 4 years of playing FFXIV, I never EVER had a endgame dungeon where the party had to disband it or even took longer than 30 mins.
