Questions for SE: More lore on Garlemald

While we learn more and more about Garlemald with each patch, I know I always have more and more questions popping up, alongside many acquaintances and friends. Just some basic facts that seem like they wouldn't be very spoilerish to whatever is to come. Knowledge that might be common or known by some in Eorzea. Either way, I really hope we get some more official answers on some of these questions, as I know it would help sate my thirst for knowledge on our mysterious enemies.

A thread like this was created once before, and was met with great success. I hope a rep sees fit to deliver once again. It would be very appreciated. Thank you!


Question #1: Does the country of Garlemald have it's own unique spoken and written language? Is "Eorzean" sort of a common tongue, or would Eorzea be considered English to the Garlean's German? If so, do the Garleans have a specific accent that might set them apart from the rest of the world?

Question #2: What is the Garlean landscape like? I see many references to "wastelands" when speaking about the country. Are their lands rocky and barren due to their extreme use of Magitek technology or some other unknown factor? Are some portions lush with life? Do the majority of her people live in the frigid northlands?

Question #3: We know that Magitek has many uses, both by the military and by civilians. We've also seen the scale of it - from behemoth airships, to apparent matter-transporters. A certain NPC mentions that Garleans are rumored to use Magitek to enhance their agility and strength - and that some have "third eyes". Is this true? If so, does this mean Magitek has medical uses as well? Can implants be used to enhance their soldiers? Do they have the capability to replace lost limbs with Magitek prosthetics? ( I hope so! )

Question #4: Can you tell us any more about Ceruleum? We know it's used with Magitek technology, but does it have any other specific purposes? Is it a staple of their economy?

Question #5: It has been suggested that Garlean technology has some degree of AI to it. Is this true? For example, are Juggernauts remotely controlled? Do they act on their own volition for the empire? Or are they piloted?

Question #6: In light of question #5, do Garleans have their own version of Mammets? Magitek-powered robotic assistants or something of that sort?

Question #7: Can you tell us anything about Garlean traditions or stigmas common to their culture? We know not all of them are a part of the military, and are normal every day people. (Well, maybe they are.)

Question #8: Bit of a joke question, but, we've seen Gunblades and a Gunhalbred. Will the Garleans put a gun on just about anything?

Hopefully they're not too hesitant to speak more about the empire. I'm sure a lot of stuff is being held back intentionally for future patch content and storyline, but I'd like to think the questions asked wouldn't fall within that.
