    Constant 90002 Errors

I'm hoping for some help, an explanation or a resolution because I'm now at my wits' end and frankly considering unsubbing entirely from this game purely because of this.

Ever since Patch 4.25, coincidentally when Eureka Anemos was released, I have had nothing but 90002 errors.

These happen regardless of what I am doing - I can literally be standing and poof. Gone.

It happens a lot more if I zone, but it really isn't predictable. Before that patch it only happened once in a blue moon and generally tended to be 90001 which is my own connection dropping.

This has followed me across computers and OSes as I have built an entirely different computer with entirely different installs of the game and changed OS on a new HDD to boot, and not only that it's occurring on my mother's PS4 copy too, though with more limited amounts.

I've reset my connections, my router numerous times (my PC is hard-connected, not by wi-fi) and nothing is coming up as broken.

I know 90002 is not generally on my end as that would be 90001 and I'm only very rarely experiencing lobby server errors.

Timing-wise they can occur almost constantly, four or five times a night or even three or four times an hour, or they can take an hour or two between instances.

I am in the UK/EU playing on Balmung (NA) generally, but I believe this has happened on both Primal and Chaos Data Centers too.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

I'd like to get some more information about your disconnections.

    Please provide:

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless)
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
    - Frequency at which error occurs
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

You mentioned that this happens on a PS4 as well, are these connected to the same router or are they using different connections?

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Thanks for your reply.

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac) PC
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless) Wired
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any) Steam, Chrome, Discord - however I have tried playing with nothing else besides Steam Active (since I own the game on Steam), and the issue still occurs.
    - Frequency at which error occurs - Regularly. Every day. Since logging in today eight hours ago I have had six or seven disconnects. On a good day it can be an hour or two between them, on bad days mere minutes. I've also had disconnects where it has disconneted, allowed me into the lobby, and AS I AM CONNECTING, 90002.
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue - Hoo boy. I have built an entirely new and separate PC, changed antiviruses, OSes, hard disc drives. FFXIV is now running from an SSD, I changed from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The issue followed be across computers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game a few times, reset my router (soft and hard), reset my router's network, tried on a laptop with the same results (though that was on wifi), checked if there are issues with port forwarding.

As to the PS4 while it isn't my copy, it was the same router, but through wifi not wired. I have zero issues with any other game that is online including other MMos.

Thank you for the update BerryCharlotte.

There are a few things I want to suggest trying, just in case, but if the issue is that persistent across multiple devices, you may be experiencing a routing issue. Something is getting in the way of your route to the server. If that were the case, that would be something out of your immediate control unfortunately.

As for the suggestions I mentioned above:

The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV

You can also try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
