not_ya_wify's bathroom counter came out extremely nice considering the items we have to work with in the game. If you can do better for a bathroom counter, share screenshots with us. It would also be nice to see the screenshots of the entire room in your large that you decorated using only 17 items.
Not really, only give a commendation on the lightning, the walls around is flat and dull and show next to know taste or creativity... a more simple approach would raise the arms much more from people in general and amount of making a simple thing is a total waste of inventory space in a house... does not show creativity but lack of it.

Taste is subjective. Creativity is subjective.

You're not making a good case for how you believe things should be done is better than what not_ya_wify did. Try posting some screenshots of what you've done to argue your case.

Part of the fun of the housing game for a lot of people is seeing what they can make out of what we have. You're 100, 1,000 times entitled to your own opinion about what you do or don't like about housing styles - but trashing someone else's style, especially in a thread that's not even about style, is crass and isn't going to win you any friends. Your preferred mode of decoration may be to make the most with as little as you can, and that's fine, too, but that's your preference. That's why there's thousands of different housing styles in the world; one person may like stark minimalism, with its clean lines; another may revel in the victorian townhome, full of knicknacks and oddities.

I don't get why you feel the hostility is necessary, but it's enough to say that you don't agree with an increase in housing items and leave it there. And if you don't feel that way, then I can't imagine what your goal here is other than than to simply insult someone else.

They are always going to feel like not enough, because if you want to get creative you end up using a lot. You know how much I would want to change the floor of every room using different flooring things. Like the Combed rug to rug some rooms, but the combed rug is small, so you can't feasibly do it. It would take a good 6-8 to cover a nice sized living room.

Actually getting the ratios in order for housing limits would be enough if keep on adding beyond what suggested myself, then one would have a serious problem.

I did not say I filled a floor with 15 items, I said I would need around 15 to -finish- it. Maybe try to read my post properly before unleashing your housing elitism at me.

Let's not suggest that the amount of slots used is a direct indication of decorative quality. Decorating isn't as simple as that.

All this aside I think we can all agree that mansions are in a dire need of increased furnishing slots far more than any other type of housing.

I need them to increase the amount of items on the OUTSIDE before they do more on the inside. The limit on smalls is too restricting with the way the plots are laid out.

I completely agree but I can see why this is more difficult than increasing the interior slots. While outside every garden in the area needs to be rendered and that's way more work for the server to do than just the inside of a house. I am hoping to see exterior slots added in 5.0.

This is also personal opinion; I'm certainly not going to argue with anyone who wants more outside (and I still feel like they can adjust how aetherytes, stables, and mailboxes are counted - yes, aetherytes do count towards the item #, I checked) but personally if I had to pick more inside v more outside I'd pick inside every time. It just depends on who has what visions for their yards/interiors.

I think the whole item limit things is poorly implemented. I think they should do furnishings like they do aquariums- different size things use differing amounts of "space". So let's say they triple the "item limit" number on larges to 1200. Depending on the furniture size, it would take up 1 (for small items like wine glasses, small meals, ash trays), 2 for medium size items (chairs, round and dinner tables, posters) and 3 for large items (partitions, thrones, large rugs, plotting table, statues, gold saucer games, etc).

This would allow people to put a lot more small details in if they wish and just stick with a bunch if fancy large items.
