This brings back memories on the early days of Stormblood, when the instance servers for Susanno and Lakshmi were overload and even good internet connections can't save you from lags.
Could be the same here, many people came back and want to do the new content.
It make me remeber of the good old Titan extrem back then,where the hardest was the server lag,but then what ? i wait 1/2 weeeks to try to do it or they fix it ?
So, until things improve on Dance Dance Suzi-lution, I wonder if anyone will try suggesting that we just zoom out? <_<
I have latency issues with the Dance Dance Revolution mechanic. Even if I stand on the inner edge of the circle, some won't register, even if I did it right...
Had to kill Suzaku ten times because the sch book didn't drop so I have seen the mechanic a lot by now.
Sometimes the game doesn't register you have moved to a safe spot. So many times when we were in a safe spot and half a second later we got hit anyway. A few times we had weird lag-like behaviour which manifested as our characters no longer being able to move for half a second, and then get thrown in the air from the exploding floor. At one point we saw both the yellow and blue sections explode at the same time.
On top of that the relationship between the bird and the floor isn't consistent. Sometimes the floor explodes when the bird touches the next symbol, sometimes it's when it hits the middle of it, and sometimes when it reaches the end.
That floor mechanic is super buggy. I don't think it's latency because literally everything else in that fight works the way it's supposed to.
I look at the timing from the first explosion to run onto the second platform just before it explodes. If I wait for the animation to actually appear, the server will count me as still on the third platform when it snapshots, and the third explosion will launch me above the... second platform a little after the third explosion has gone off and the stun will not elapse until I've been snapshotted by the next turn about the second platform, guaranteeing death.
That being said, this occurs even at just 80-120 ms or so, so it seems to be more of an inaccurate animation issue than my own ping, unless packet loss can explain away any of this behavior -- my packet loss is high in this game and this game only.
It's very lag sensitive, even with a very good connection (optical fiber) i can't stream while playing suzaku or colors lags will kill me. So i guess it must be really tough for slower connections.
