    Emote: Question/Suggestion

I wasn't sure if there is a way or maybe its buy-able or a quest reward but is there an emote that lets lay down on a bed, such as one in your house, just as you would auto sit by chairs? I mean the action exists. We see it happen when we log out in an inn. Can we get such an emote.

And for that matter is it or will it ever be possible to log out/lay down and wake up, in our homes as we do in the Inn?

/doze will lay down on a bed, and there's a few different poses you can cycle through with /changepose.

I think they've been asked about making beds work like the inn and said no, because houses work differently.

The problem with /doze is that it doesn't use the "getting into bed" motion that is used when you log out at the inn. Instead you warp from standing next to the bed, to standing on top of the bed, and lie down from that position.

That might make sense if we could use /doze to lie down in any location, and the animation was the same in all situations - but when it only works that way when you're interacting with a bed in the first place, it seems a strange design choice.

It only interacts with a bed due to the desire to avoid...certain types of screenshots and activities.

Sadly playdead and push-ups exist so.

I understand the motive behind limiting it to being used on beds (though as you say, that purpose has been defeated anyway).

My issue is, given that it *is* limited to beds, why not use the existing animation of you climbing onto the bed, as seen when you log out at the inn?

The current animation of standing upright at the top of the bed and lying down from that position, makes no sense. Nobody gets into bed like that. It seems like the animation was designed to use anywhere and the “limited usability to prevent misuse” was an afterthought.

If nothing else, given that it warps you from beside the bed to standing on the bed, I’d rather warp straight to a lying position.

Yes yes! My point exactly. Us the existing go to bed movements as seen at the inn! It can react to beds the same way we react to chairs near by. When we use sit without chairs we simply sit on the floor but by a chair we sit in the chair so make the same rules for the bed.

Technically /doze does already react to beds in the same way that /sit reacts to chairs.

That is, you only lie down if you are next to a bed when you use the emote. (The issue is the animation that's used to move from standing to lying down.)

Otherwise there seem to be three separate "doze off briefly and wake up" animations for whether you are standing, sitting on a chair or sitting on the ground.
