Will they ever revamp the ARR Crafting Progression?

It's been a while. What I'm wondering is why haven't we gotten any QoL for ARR Crafting? I understand it can be quite onerous just to start, but what's more having to update your gear every 5 levels for all your faffing jobs is even more onerous. It's driving me up a wall, and considering I'm usually alone when I craft, it's frustrating even trying to get what I need to start for gearing up again.

I am not completly sure what you mean?

Gear is shared between all crafters and leveling most of them up together makes a lot of sense since they all interchange materials they produce. Leveling them in ARR has been a while for me, but I'm pretty sure I didnt upgrade my gear that often - your GC is also offering crafter-sets that can last you quite a while, so I'm not sure I'm seeing the issue here...?

In terms of actually gaining levels - both levequests and GC-turn ins made leveling crafters always fairly easy to me. We also got a QoL-addition when it comes to ARR-crafter-leveling: The Ixali Beasttribe-quests that I would recommend to you if you're not doing them already! (Followed by moogles for HW and namazu for SB)
Leveling up wont get easier with HW (or SB) aswell - collectables arent a great way to level crafters, except obviously for the ones you do for Zhloe, Naago and Kurenai. But other than that its levequests and GC-turn ins...

It gets easier, because you have better skills to craft, that much is true, but... I'm not sure what the issue is?
Are you familiar with your skills and rotations?
Have you figured out the best way to craft and to make proper use of your crossclassskills?

And what QoL-features would you even suggest? What QoL-features do you believe we got with HW/SB?

They went back and updated xp you get off the job quests.. if youre leveling your jobs all at the same time there should be less need for holding gear (you could also just use some of the gear the quests give you... this isn't accounting for grand company turn ins or ixal levequests.... ARR crafting has come a loooong way from where it started.

There's no need to.. I mean sure we get gear every 5 levels, but that gear can generally work for around 10-15 levels if you use it properly, and depending on NQ or HQ. Just upgrade it when you find yourself struggling to do the craft or gain quality. This annoyance is only aggregated by the fact levelling is so fast in the lower portion, doesn't feel as bad in Heavensward or Stormblood. Again, just upgrade your gear when you feel it's absolutely necessary, not just because it's there in the crafting log.

first 20 levels should be a breeze with next to no gear needed as you should just be sitting in your fc house buying vender mats and crafting one of each thing.

this will give you the gear you need to get to 35 or so when you can select your next gear set to craft for some boosted xp. at 50 use patricians set keep using that til you can buy vender gear in hw areas.

realistically vender gear all the way is the best option as your not trying to hit endgame arr crafting or hw crafting as each expansions gear crafts all previous things super easily.

when i levelled my alt i did gc turn ins checking mb for cheap hqs or even nqs to save time. crafting for leves and using those. i didnt bother with ixal as it just takes way to much time running around doing the quests i could just auto craft for 10mins and get basically the same xp.

which btw should be a good friend of yours as you can set it away go back in 30mins and set it away again.. no need to do the manual stuff. of course youll need mats and crystals and craft the initial item to be able to use quicksynth but it helps alot with the grind.

it took about 6 weeks of doing that at a steady pace to get to level 60, once there leves in kugane gets you to 70 relatively quickly, also dont neglect your job quests as not only do you get skills but the boosted xp gains is really good nowadays.

If you're not worried about getting HQ, Flawless Synthesis is your best friend early on. As much as we all love to hate it, you can finish crafts with absolute crap for gear using it. I did some of my ARR leveling with 0 craftsmanship & control (broken gear) by just spamming Flawless Synthesis. Sure, it uses more materials, but when you have a surplus from leveling gatherers, it really doesn't hurt. That combined with commercial manuals makes getting to 50 super fast on any remaining jobs.
