Lionheart
Defender
Durandal
#10 Ragnarok (EU server)
#11 Savethequeen (UK server) - j/k

Sounds perfect.

And so, as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works...
Because SE is likely concerned about making people happy, living up to MMO and gaming standards of 2012, and encouraging customers to return to Eorzea, populate the game, and fill their coffers? But why? I mean I sort of see your point from a human standpoint of let's be nice give them a chance but, they made the decision not to play or pay for service so why should SE do anything for them?
The old adage of "Snooze you loose." They have time if they even CARE to read the Lodestone as the date was originally posted before Server Merge Armageddon took place last week and that post/announcement was removed.
I'm not sure why having this as an option would bother anybody - you're not losing out, and it doesn't affect you. Why do you care if returning players have a choice on login of their server, rather than a random assignment? Genuine question. Is it just some weird over the top "I paid for an MMO!" pride that you'd want to frustrate and annoy returning players, and potentially hurt SE profits? o_O
Slight Edit: On the upside, this is a non-issue anymore for the most part, since players won't be as broken up. More permanent transfer options and choices would be nice, but I assume 2.0 will bring those anyway.

Ok, in seriousness. I'm glad Yoshi~P decided to go this route. It's the best of all worlds.
