Level Syncing isn't the best solution

I spend a lot of my time level synced in this game while doing various quests and roulettes. It feels like I scratched and clawed my way to level 70 only to be level 50 again.

I think there can be another solution- like simply lowering the output of our spells to be on par with what we're doing. I have a level 70 rotation and I should be able to use and practice my level 70 rotation. Even if it doesn't do all the damage that it does at level 70, I should still be able to use it when doing lower level content.

I know... people are going to rebel and claim that this cannot be done.

This is not a new concept- There are other MMOs who have pulled this off. It's not impossible. It can be done. This company has the money to pull this off. It's a multi-billion dollar company. People should be rewarded for making maximum level- not have it taken away from them- also, the more practice I get at my max level rotation, the better I'll be at it.

Press more buttons to reach the same output? No thanks.

its not that people are against this, there are actually a large group of people for it.

the problem comes from balancing the difference between lvl70's and not lvl 70's you have a whole kit (or two) more than anyone not max making you way more efficient/better

I don't think MMOs are for you. Typically they don't make classes that only have a single button attack. But some of us like max level rotations.

They need to redesign virtually every job in the game, from the ground up, to be functionally complete by level 30. Having an AoE spell/skill, having at least one full rotation, and that rotation being something that feels like it naturally evolves into whatever the lv80 rotation is (and lv50, lv60 and lv70 along the way).

What they did with the launch of SB, aside from things like finally giving PLD Shield Oath at lv30 after four damn years, made most content in the game on most of the jobs obscenely boring under lv62-ish. The change to cross-role actions happening at the same time made it worse; not having access to Blizzard II on healer makes the first several dungeons absolutely unbearable.

As someone that has every job at lv70, I can tell you this: If there's any possibility whatsoever that the thing I'm queued for will sync me below 70, I'm only going to queue on RDM. I'd rather spam a single button (Scatter) while watching paint dry than play the other 14 jobs. And I'm someone that largely finds the ARR dungeons to be far more appealing than their HW/SB counterparts.

That'd be a lot more trouble spell re-writing for 'what ifs' than it sounds like.

Isn't it where when we replay through the dungeons, we're going through our own memories to technically relive the same instance over and over?

Plus stuff has been re-worked a lot in the past, and this sounds like something that could only be done during an expansion, but it feels like it'd take up time they could be using to better the game. I'd rather have certain abilities inaccessible and have a more simple rotation for lower level stuff. Plus if you help someone out at a low level who might be new, there's a very high chance they won't know half the stuff you're talking about, so this just feels like a waste of time to re-redo everything, again.

The only MMO I've played that does it is WoW, and it works badly there. They mess with the content tuning so it either remains trivial for max level players being scaled down with full toolkits or ends up too difficult for players who are at the intended level but only have partial toolkits. I'd not enjoy seeing it repeated here. If the content is designed around players having access to only certain abilities then it should be experienced that way when synced.

What I would like is to be able to save multiple hotbar/keybind layouts per job so when I'm syncing to lower level content I can switch to a layout for the abilities available at that level.

They're not saying they don't want to do more than press one button, they're saying they don't want to press several buttons to get the same result as someone else who only presses one. Needing to put in far more effort than someone else for the same result isn't fun.

And what about healing? Does my cure 2 get nerfed to the ground because I'm in a low lvl dungeon making it about as good as a cure 1? Do all my heals get nerfed so I have to use several gcds to heal someone, while someone else who isn't synced only needs to use one or two?

Then why not do lvl 70 content?

One thing they could do is apply the reworked PvP system to PvE, so whenever you're synced below a certain level you get a new hotbar with the old skills and rotations from ARR and HW.

It'd probably make the transition from 60 to 61 incredibly jarring, but it'd also make going back to older content much more enjoyable.

Well, in WoW, it's just a very minor part of the game- here it's a HUGE part of the game. Also, I don't think a company that counts as a multi-billion dollar corporation should ever use "It's hard" as an excuse for not making an improvement
