Error 2002 .... any data center

Every time I try to log into a data center (any of them) I get the 2002 error about lobby congestion. My husband logs in fine and my son on the PS4 logs in fine. I have a ticket already submitted. I am extremely frustrated to the point of throwing my hands up and quitting. Had raid tonight and have it tomorrow yet I am not sure I can even login.

    EDIT:
I ran the program in compatibility mode (windows 8) and it worked. I should not have to run this game in this mode. I should be able to use my Windows 10 like before.

Good morning and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If you don't have issues on the PS4 (I'm assuming they are using the same connection) and you can run the game using Windows 8 compatibility, then it is something specific with your PC. I'd suggest you check a few of the following:

The game will use the Internet Explorer web browser to connect to the internet. Open Internet Explorer, then open the "Tools" setting, go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Reset your router by turning it off for a few minutes, then back on.

Make sure your anti-virus/firewall has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV (you can temporarily disable them while you try to connect as well).

Make sure to use a wired Ethernet connection as opposed to a wireless one if possible.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

There is no way I am opening my computer to run software without signatures. It worked before the patch on the 5th and since the emergency patch last night even compatibility modes dont work (tried them all). So I am dead in the water .. I can log into my account but I cannot connect to any datacenter. "The Lobby has encountered an error ... 2002" thats what I get then I hit ok and then the game closes every single time ... my husband is on ff14 right now with his windows 10 ..... my son was on earlier with the ps4... I can play any game I want to on my computer except this one. And yes it is allowed with my nortons. All permissions are there for my internet as well

    Problem Resolved

After going into safe mode and running numerous tests ... uninstalling and reinstalling game... uninstalling web browsers and reinstalling them ... flushing my dns.... etc etc I found that my router was not allowing my computer to access servers with FFIV (or just wasn't allowing this program to access outside servers). How this happened I have no idea (do not really care at this point since it is fixed). There were literally no problems with other games on my system.

All in all I have fixed the problem by resetting my router (use a device to push the red reset button to clear all old settings) and redoing everything setting wise for it. It is exactly the same as before but at least now the game works and BONUS I do not have to run it in compatibility mode. I hope this helps anyone out there still having a problem.

Thank you for the update Lady_Adri.

It's difficult to say exactly what was causing the issue, but it looks like it's resolved for now. This thread will be moved to the 'Closed Concerns' subforum as the thread creator has found a resolution to their issue.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
