I'm not saying anything bad about XI at all, I'm just making the notes of what's happening in the community... it's more like a disconnect between the developers and the community... personally I didn't overly enjoy XI anyways but if people did then cool! that's their thing and I respect that... however, what has essentially happened here is Duke Nukem Forever... it was great at one time and everyone wanted it then once they got it, they didn't enjoy it... but it wasn't just the nostalgia that made the game fail as the developers were taking from what they had been told, what they heard and what they had experienced... and then we got what we got... the hardcore, overworld mob grind is an outdated mechanic but it has shown to work in the past from a game... a game that the community wanted to be incorporated into its current game...

Basically what we got isn't what the community wanted but it's what the developers believed we were talking about
