Discrimination in the Grand Companies: A Wake-Up Call

I love the idea of Grand Companies, but something always stings when I think about my place in them.

I can't remember the specifics, but there are multiple divisions of the Order of the Twin Adder to which Gridanians can be placed when they join up. When I joined I was placed in the "special" division set aside for adventurers, because I'm not Gridanian by birth.

I thought Gridania did away with this "separate but equal" crap long ago, but I assure you it is alive and well. I'm put into a special division because I am a foreigner.

It would be nice if I could have a home... since Gridania obviously doesn't want me.

Just wait until you can pick a home nation once we start to explore distant continents! I for one don't like any of our current 3 nations Ishguard feels more homey to me and i can only see the outside

The short time I spent there with my very first character left me with an impression of racism I never felt in 20 years of my life before, that's how bad it is.
There were actually people who thought it would be different in Gridania's military?
After the stuff that priest girl said about "OUR forest" and how "we Gridanians are supposed to protect it"..?
Heck, I can even understand them.
If my safety was depending on the Twin Adders and the only thing I learned from birth was that outsiders are evil, I wouldn't want them to be part of the main army too

I'm waiting for the war to start and watch the "Adventurer's Division" of the Adders get put in the Vanguard. They are good as a shield for the rest of the troops, I guess. We'll lose less Gridanians that way. lol

Oh, so you already found out what the special duty of the adventurer branch of the Twin Adders is..hm..maybe they should let you join their real ranks, you already adopted their way of thinking very well after all

Hmm Im kinda glad I joined Immortal Flames. Not judging Twin Adders by the post, but I found the Immortal Flames speech was more inspiring to me than the other companies, just sayin... :P
