It really does. I know this because one of my friends kept getting reported and got permanently banned (from the game) for the stuff he was saying (no worse than what that FC person said). It might take time, but it does happen. It really doesn't. Had a guy in my FC spouting off legit racist stuff like "I hate x race" and "x race is just awful they should all die", of course we reported him and almost a week later he's still running around town.
But I get banned from the forums for saying I'm not old bear
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
I mean I know someone who has had a temp ban before for name calling in a similar situation, actually one where I would say the person he called a name was more deserving of retaliation because it was a tank who sat down and refused to continue unless the group passed his votekick on an innocent dps.
I think (just like the forums) GMs don't consistently enforce the rules across all reports which is really the frustrating thing here.
For the OP - sounds like maybe this guy has a problem with your FC (they were sympathetic enough to you to randomly tell you his alts name anyway) so perhaps that contributed to his antagonism towards you. As I said I don't believe this story was 'heal pls' followed by 'shut up idiot im #bestasteu' because that seems like a sorta crazy escalation is all.
Well that just sounds silly, not you, but how things are handled if that's the case.
They got multiple reports of that person, told us they could only talk to the person that reported him first, nothing happened. Now if he never goes on his tantrum again then nothing happens? When people have been banned from the forums for way less?
