    An advise on Scrips

    Hello!

I enjoy crafting and gathering quite a bit in this game, but admittedly, I focus mostly on the crafting part, and up till this points I was ignoring the Delivery quests, Collectables and Scrips. I did start with the Deliveries like a month ago, been doing them weekly (again, mostly focusing on crafting), not doing the ones that change daily, did use the red scrips to earn those master crafting tomes, and spending the yellow crafting ones on accessories and now the tools, as well as their augmentations.

However I admit that this does concern me a bit. This is a rather lengthy process. It'll take a long time to get all the gear, even if I was ignoring all the class-specific head, body, legs etc. stuff. And again, I've been neglecting Gathering (for both me and my retainers) for quite a while), so I question if I'm not making a mistake here.

So, I would like to kindly ask, what I should probably prioritize with the Weekly Scrips, as well as the regular daily deliveries that I'd be making, and then which of those Gathering, Crafting classes are best to focus on.

I'd very much appreciate some advise. Thank you

The gear you are referring to is the script gear. you can go ahead and farm scripts if you want too, but the gear is not that good because it cannot be melded, and melding is very important for crafters. It would be much more beneficial the ilvl 340 set (you do need to purchase the books), but this gear is very good and you can customize the melds to your liking. You will need the ala mhigan set to craft these though, if you don't have that, I would suggest gathering all the materials needed to craft the ilvl 340 set and have someone craft you the set (or you can buy it from the mb). Do your namazu daily as they give the mats required to craft the gear. Keep up with weekly scripts, farm scripts as needed. You can use this website to premeld your gear to see what you want to do, i have provide a link to my melds http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/173JU. These are not correct or wrong, just what i use. The melds are relatively cheap, used my weekly scripts throughout most of the patches to buy my materia, so i didn't really spend any gil on my melds. You can meld cheaper or meld alot more, depends on what makes you comfortable.

You are correct that it takes a lot of effort to fully gear a crafter/gatherer using the yellow scrips. So ill join Nyx in recommending that we skip that step. You have a few of the shared slot items. What i would do next is try to make myself a chestpiece. If you can make that, you can make a full set to update your gatherers and finish filling out your crafting set. It isnt top of the line, but its a good start. So what would you be doing with your red/yellow scrips then? Buy any materials you might need for crafting(kingcraft demimateria if you go for the next set above the one i linked for instance), and invest the extras into tier 4-6 materia. You can stockpile for future melds and/or you can sell off your extras for funding.

Something else you can do is follow this guide. You can jump straight from the fresh level 70 gear to the current ilvl 340 gear, completely skipping Ala mhigan step. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z42U8f4tR4I
