Because FFXIV is all time the same thing...
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: [...]these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Mid June 2019.

I wish FFXVI was on the horizon. Let's hope for some massive changes to a stale design. Port over XI and call it 5.0 Eureka
You can also just look at the new raid/ilvl patches. We already know that september will bring the last raid tier for stormblood and with that is the last ilvl rise. So we will have 6 months or so fighting the 3rd and final raid before the 'catchup' patches kick in unlocking weekly clears and handing out upgrade items in 24mans and final relic steps for a couple months. 8-10 months from now we will have recieved all the stormblood planned content. (3 raid tiers, fully completed relics, eureka conclusion, max ilvl etc). After that the next step is an expac to reset all those things and rinse-repeat. We need new raids tiers and those only come from new expansion. We arent getting an unannounced '4th' raid tier in stormblood.
So yeah. Summer 2019. Everything about the old schedules and patch cycles lines up with the current ones and we know raids are coming to an end in SB so its business as usual.
I'm ready! But most likely it will follow the pattern mentioned above.
i'm guessing next summer, that's when the previous 2 expansions were released.
