    Can you skip / delay update (patch) download at all ??

    Hi all

    I was playing on my Heavensward setup and purchased the Stormblood extension. The launcher immediately started the download upon logging in.

    Is there a way to skip this for now, as I'm facing a 10h patch download and would rather play now and download during the night ? My only options seem to be to cancel the download, but then I can't log in to the old status quo either.

    Can anyone help please ?

    Updates cant be skiped since they add stuff that you are affected by even in a lv 1 zone. (Skills gear jobs so forth)

    You have to update to the current version to play

    ...why did you buy an expansion if you didnt want to download it?

    She did say she wanted to download it later, she just wants to be able to play right now. I usually wait to download stuff til right before I go to sleep or work, so I understand her reasoning.

    As for the OP's question- I might be mistaken as I'm not very technologically inclined but, unfortunately, I think that once the downloading starts, there's no stopping it til it's done.

    There's a launcher options menu that has the option to disable expansion downloads, you can try that, but I don't know if it will let you once it starts.

    By the time you read this hopefully it's done. Happily it's a one time download.
    This is why some download let you predownload games but lock them out till launch day.
