To all you rich players... How did you do it?

Crafting is where most of mine comes from, with the occasional burst from selling gathered materials. At one point Doman Iron Ore was 3k each on a patch day, for NQ. I sold over 2000 ore that day.

Furniture is so insanely profitable its hilarious. Things like mounted box shelves, imitation windows, tier 3/4 aquariums, etc. are very easy to make but sell for ridiculous amounts sometimes. Even some items that you need special diadem or airship voyage mats for can be sold for FAR more than the mats cost to buy. Its all about spending some time researching the MB to find what sells and keeping those items listed as often as possible. I usually have well over 100 pieces of furniture listed at a time.

I made most of my gil back in HW with the favour mats. If i would need gil now i would just look at the MB and craft whats cheap to get and expensive to sell with propper selling numbers ofc.

I have 31 million gil at present, mainly because I did maps and managed to sell some nice things like a PotD horse or some Fiend Sap.

Got my first million in in game (from the 30 day reward thing but my first million of my own work was) from buying steel sallets, toadskin armguards, linen tights, linen bliauds, mythril sallets etc all from NPC for 1-3k Gil and selling on mb for 30-40k occasionally for some reason linen gaskins of gahering would sell for 100k (not sure why but people were paying it) over time I made my money.

I remember doing that when DRK / AST came out. It was easy money.

Back before they marged all glamour prisms into one (and before you could buy them with GC seals) I crafted stacks of WVR and GSM prisms and sold them on the MB, for the wvr prisms I even bought the velveteen from the sylph vendor and crafted a whole stack of prisms right there. Sometimes I'd send my retainer for skins and craft LTW prisms since WVR, GSM and LTW were the most needed. Controlled the market on WVR prisms on Faerie for quite a while.

Now I really just do roulettes and sometimes sell crafting mats from maps, since I saved up 50m for a mansion in Shirogane and then lost Housing EX because server. Sometimes I still make the CP tea and foodstuffs to sell, but mostly I keep 'em for personal use.

Do I ever feel bad shortcutting the emotionless NPC's that are constantly shortcutting me by doing their work for them?

Cheap and easy...

- Flax to gather, no one seems to gather that. Only lvl 30ish Botanist needed.
- Linen everything, no one seems to bother with those. Only lvl 30ish Weaver
- Wool Yarn, no one seems to bother crafting that either.
- Farm Fleece or sent retainers
- Any and all of the beast tribe goodies that they sell cheaper.
- Mortar, no one seems to enjoy crafting it and it's fairly easy but sells great.
- Fine Wax, if you want to farm Haukke manor, or all the Manor furniture if you can craft it.
- Buy cheap VI Materia (mind/int/dex etc) but have a budget for it. Transmute it to hopefully gatherer or crafter materia and sell it for a small fortune. (it's a risk to it of course)

And always make sure you undercut by a gil.

All I do is the delivery turn ins each week. I buy crafters command with reds and king demimateria with yellows. On my server it usually nets me 1 million gill a week, since there is nothing to buy it usually mounts up.

I have all my crafters at 70 and don't make use of them. I really need to change that XD
But yeah, my friend crafts all the time and watches market boards incessantly. She has "MB Dominator" in her search info and she means it. Makes like 30m a day without even trying... it's insane.
