I don't care about the earrings, but I would like to experience the instance as I've heard good things about it. It's spawned about 3 times on Cactuar and I haven't been available during any of them. The event is supposed to mimic the final days of 1.0 right? The monster spawns in the cities weren't up constantly.
I'd say this works for me. Now all the people complaining about legacy players complaining about earrings can complain. I'm pretty happy with this event now
It's just digital pixels guys, why so upset?

Funny, It was available on every server I tried it on. only had to wait like 5 minutes.
I think it's simply on a night-timer, as the instance itself doesn't reset, it just gives you 60 minutes, which is enough to do it 3-4 times. Depends if there's 200 or 400 people in it.
I think I was very lucky. I just logged in yesterday did the first quest. Once I finished that the recruiter was there. Killed the monsters, lots of players in, ppl grouping up. Got 100 tokens, got the ugly rings.
All and all it was fun.
Sucks to know the npc is random and has a limited window to appear. I guess by doing that whenever it pops it makes the whole server go there giving the impression everyone is helping each other. Maybe trying to mimic what really happened. Not defending SE on this though as I am a player with limited time to play. I just got lucky but I can say I did enjoy what I experienced.
Was lucky yesterday in Ul'dah, when popping back from a dungeon the recruiter was there. Started it and was very disappointed. This is effectively Eurekas NM's in the cities. Lots of people mobbing together to hit on monsters (synced to 50, btw), laggy gameplay and people dropping like flies due to missing or wrong placed AOE markers. Got my 100 tokens and left the instance.
"I don't think it's bad because it didn't affect me even if it did affect many others."Funny, It was available on every server I tried it on. only had to wait like 5 minutes.

Well, congratulations for you.
Hey it looks like the bug report made was moved to Accepted Bugs, so maybe it isn't working as intended after all? If so I hope they extend the event duration for those of us who wound up with less time to play for it.
People loved it in XI. Want that rare weapon? Well better hope that 24-72hr spawn time lands when you are free.
But yes, if they wanted to limit it, they could of made it something that could only be done daily aka "Reward Daily" with the option to re-enter as many times as you like to help people rather than something that is just random as to when it starts.
Sorry. been out of the game for a few weeks. So its on a timer? Like you just go to uldah and wait? Is there a specific spot?
There is a NPC in the "event" area of each city that spawns after a while, next to the shop NPC for the event items. You can wait or you can just queue for stuff like usual and when you see the npc appear, quickly withdraw from whatever else you queued for. Like it appears for longer than an hour and stays open until everyone exits. (eg the npc disappears and no more people will come in, but if there are still people in the instance you have until the timer runs out.)
So, I saw the npc in Upper Limsa Laminas where the seasonal events usually take place. I guess if it's not up in Ul'dah, it may be up in Limsa or Gridania.
