But the earrings could have marked a 1.0 character too.
And I mean, if they're concerned how common it'll get, just make it behind a random spawning npc again.I'll still try for it because it'll fit my alt's glam perfectly.

Jijifli, considering this thread has 8+ pages of responses, I doubt any of us are able to get through to why you, nor anyone who began an account once 2.0 started, will never get a legacy tattoo. /Sigh, let me see if I can explain, because I have nothing better to do right now other than try to wake up this morning.
In order to get a legacy tattoo, you had to have paid a full 3-month subscription during 1.0, which was waaay back in 2010. The mark symbolizes those who played in the world and survived the calamity. The developers were also apologetic and regretful about the poor state the game was in during this time and wanted to leave the characters with rewards, or thank-yous, for continuing to support them by playing the game during that time. This tattoo, among other perks, was the result of this statement.
I guess you could think of this one-time tattoo as a cool-looking scar? It would make a person look kind of strange if they asked, "Why can't I have that?" Or maybe you could think of it as a type of prize a person wins at a drawing, even though it's a bad comparison.
My point is that you cannot simply ask for this option for your character. There is a sole reason legacy players have this mark, and it would be a slap in the face for not only all players who experienced the calamity, but it would diminish the value of Square Enix's "thank-you" message to the players ...COMPLETELY. This is why everyone is upset with you asking for this.
I may be OK with the purchase of the tattoo...in a different color that distinguishes new vs calamity-survivors? MAYBE. But it's still controversial to discuss.
I'm pretty sure you are trolling, too, and my words are probably (again) falling on deaf ears... but if not, then one day you will understand.

But I was already told in the thread you didn't need a sub, just a character. I thought the 3 month reward was the lower sub cost, which would be rude to make for everyone.Jijifli, considering this thread has 8+ pages of responses, I doubt any of us are able to get through to why you, nor anyone who began an account once 2.0 started, will never get a legacy tattoo. /Sigh, let me see if I can explain, because I have nothing better to do right now other than try to wake up this morning.

And looking at it as a scar doesn't change my mind on it. My alt could still look amazing with it. Plus you all got to play with it for 5 years, why can't I get a turn?

Because as said by numerous persons, your character weren't teleported into the current version. Even Legacy player can't make another character like this. Because, spoiler, they haven't teleported either. But I was already told in the thread you didn't need a sub, just a character. I thought the 3 month reward was the lower sub cost, which would be rude to make for everyone.

The reason why it is impossible to get the legacy tattoo has been answered by several people. If you even understand our explanations, any further persistence simply makes you appear arrogant and quite rude.
Square Enix has given us many different customization options for our characters. Accept what you are given, or try to look for a different game that satisfies your hunger.
This thread has been exhausted countless times in the past, as well as now. Please move on... You should find something more important to occupy your time. D:
I dont like the Event, it getting worser with the new content SE release - i love this game, but right now ? nope!

What i actually missed out from 1.0 was the titles earned during that time. Ah... if only I realized early and get that 'Notorious Monster Hunter' Title..

This isn't even a good troll thread, come on, people.

Because I dropped $$$ for the collector's edition.
Because I actually paid for the game because I wanted to play it.
That's why we have it and non-1.0 players don't.
You don't look at someone's Medal of Honour and say "but I want one too!" if you didn't earn it by answering the call to arms. The difference between the tat and the earrings is one was a thank you for at leasy buying the game and trying it along with the legacy bird and sub discount if you subbed during their actual sub time (the rest was a very extended free 30 days after starting an account) and the earrings were just a quest reward if you somehow got lucky to even do and finish a fight. *Items* are things that shouldn't be locked behind the "exclusive" banner (I was miffed over the moogle suit for 10 minutes before I got over it because it doesn't effin' matter, let people get stuff like that) forever. But things like the tat, that isn't an item but something actually special?
No.
There are a few gear sets that give the illusion of a tattoo. Use those if you want one so bad.
