Profoundly disappointed by the outcome of the Lancer L30 / final class quest.
Too late we discover his background and motivation -- which should have been alluded to by others in the Lancer's Guild considering what he admitted to doing!

And then... nothing. None of that information is used.

Instead, I would recommend the following:

(1) At the end of the Lancer L20 quest when Ywain points his spear at Foulques, have Foulques instead stand firm and retort in a way that alludes to his having stepped forward to admit his guilt about the theft but the accomplice lancers did not -- proof of their lack of courage. The player doesn't understand at the time, but realizes more when later Ywain explains by revealing Foulques's background in the guild.

(2) At around 25% health in the final fight with Foulques, pause for cutscene.
Foulques can blabber something cryptic about his past and his cowardly accomplices. The player's Echo gives them a flashback to Foulques's past with the Guild, AND incidentally identifies who the accomplices were.
Even though he is clearly losing, Foulques reaffirms his determination and reckless courage and charges the player using the Blood for Blood technique. Upon defeat have him stagger back and having suffered the drawback from Blood for Blood, fall off the edge.

(3) When the player returns to the Guild and explains what happened, Ywain cautions the player about Foulques's rash fighting paradigm, but nevertheless it is a new one the player learns and Blood for Blood is added to the repertoire.

(4) Unlock a sidequest in the Lancer's Guild where the player, having special information gained through the Echo, locates and investigates Foulques's accomplices to finally bring them to justice.
