    An Angry Letter About Eureka Pagos

    To whoever designed Pagos,

    This is too insulting of content that is supposed to be the continuation of Anemos.

    Grind and fun are two different things that can be put together. Grind can be fun, tedious, but fun; and not fun at all.

    Pagos is simply not fun. Players are not idiots. This is not Eureka Pagos. This is Eureka Anemos plus some sparkles. How could this be acceptable content for approval? The moment I went in there and found out that I'm basically the same as a level 1 character in Anemos is extremely frustrating. Mounts are again disabled and gated by levels. What the hell is this? If I already earned my mount usage in Anemos why can't I use in place that expanded from Anemos? Because it's a new place? Oh I have more reason to call it Anemos 2.0 then.

    Back in Anemos, the part I've always hated about Eureka in the beginning is the fact that I cannot use my mount to travel and have to feel like a cripple traveling around. The moment I gain my mount usage, it finally started to feel like a fun grind. I hated everything before I can use my mount because it's too easy to get kill everywhere.

    Those things I've done in Anemos, I won't do it again in Pagos as well as the one after Pagos. I can grind whatever materials you want me to; but if you want me to go through the exact same progression and feel like a level 1 every single time, NO THANKS. Don't you dare to copy and paste Anemos formula again. Eureka is dead to me for now. My expectation to Eureka content has been destroyed.

    But for the weapon upgrades, your predecessors spent a lot of time and effort farming mobs to grow stronger, so we won't ease up on that. Please learn how to do that.

    I liked Pagos. It's meant to be difficult and time consuming to get a relic, and not to be just focused on fun. It's fun for me, while not being the most fun content and keeping it's difficulty to manage strategy for time cost/efficient to level fast and get the relic fast.

    I'm loving to watch all the whine with my new relic right my side, tho. Kisses and Hugs! I hope SE don't nerf it again, so that whoever put effort into this relic does not feel bad. Savage was not nerfed within 2 weeks.

    Difficult and fun are not mutually exclusive.

    Say what you want about difficulty and progress, but this is a game. In the end fun should trump just about everything. If it's not fun why should I do it? If an incredibly strong reward is the only incentive, fun be damned, then your event is badly designed and should be reworked until it is fun.

    This is relic, and not casual content. People must see me as a relic owner with "oh, that guy has a relic, that is a difficult weapon to get". That's how I see relics from ARR and HW. Eureka is easy as it is now, I didn't take that long to get the relic, I've just done the right party setup, killed the right monsters for my EL, and here it is, my relic. I Hope Logos is a lot harder and gated behind a week limit.

    And for the "fun", there's plenty of content that is already fun. Eureka was not meant to fill this "Fun" gap, and yes to be something unique and to fill the "we want a different content" gap. But as Yoshida said: "It kind of feels like even though people ask for change, they're upset when there is change". That's the truth with all these complains.

    What you seem to be missing is that the relics have ALWAYS been the more 'casual' weapons. Grindy, sure... but they were never the 'hardcore' weapons/content. Those were the raiding weapons. And the complaints about Pagos are pretty spot on, considering the developers have had to patch it multiple times now... Players across all, NA/EU/JP servers have been complaining about the content. It's fair to have an OPINION that 'oh well I thought it was fine' but an overwhelming majority have disliked how it has been presented, so SE is having to readjust it. Quickly. There's a reason for that. Another thing to consider is that previous relics had various means in which to grind out those steps that did not force the same sort of grind at all times, and that has also been a bone stuck in the player's craw here.
