Hero of the Twin Adder... really ?

    Hello everyone,

I just received a notification from the Lodestone that I was mentionned as "Yesterday's hero of the Twin Adder" on Wutai for the 5th time.

    http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/rc/gc/backlog?t=2&w=8&stype=0

Okay, now it made sense on the other days when I actually went and did caravans runs, sometimes earning around 2k seals on a single evening. Thing is, I was at my taekwondo lesson yesterday and did not log on... AT ALL.

I understand that daily seals aren't the only factor taken in, but seriously, how can I be named a "Hero of the Day" when I didn't even play ? lol

While the compliment is nice and the comment about the Twin Adder is even better... I really would like to know how do they determine "Heroes of the Day".

Anyone has info on this ?

Samwell love the oath sig ^^. I too wonder if anything is even based on JP midnight in this game, since the guildleves reset seems to be more what they base future timers off of. But for something like "heroes of the day", I would think it would be 24 hours (excuse the blatant obviousness), using JP midnight is understandable but they give us everything in PST, so that makes me think they count 24 hour things on PST. I would love a timer section of the lodestone for the daily and weekly things.

The difference in time zones woud make a plausible explanation. However, I don't think it is JP midnight, because I live in Québec, and in Tokyo, they get to midnight before I do. Therefore, since I did not collect any seals during yesterday's time period (and last time I did I barely did 5 company leves for 500 seals or so), I still don't see how it is possible.

Anyway, I'm not really complaining per say, but you know... it made no sense to me. lol

Basically, it's exactly what it says. Midnight at Japan's time, which is GMT+9h.

To me, who lives in Drummondville, Québec, Canada, in the GMT-5h zone, this would be 10 o'clock AM. I'm always 14 hours earlier than in Tokyo... that is, unless they don't apply DSL like we do in Québec. And if that is the case, from March to November, this will be 11 o'clock AM instead.

Yes, but, what is so special about it?

Well, if something is referring to 'yesterday's heroes' they have to make the day partition somewhere. Whose yesterday are they referring to? The servers and game creators are in Japan... hence JP midnight, when their day changes.

To the OP, the only thing I can think of is that few enough people on your server actually bothered to acquire any Twin Adder GC seals that day and you're still there because... they didn't have any new name to fill in your spot.
