Server merge, name change, right of passage

Dear SE,

In the event that the server merge requires someone to change their name. Have you given any thought to those players with a Right of Passage certificate? This collectible paper has our character's name on it. For those that get into that sort of thing, a name change would render the paper worthless.

Will you reprint. Or better yet, allow us to check name availability before we transfer?

You could get it in the American CE as well. You had to fill something out online IIRC to receive it. It was a pretty inventive bonus, and yeah, hadn't even thought of that OP, but definitely a downside if you're stuck doing a name change! D:

I remember filling out my right of passage, but I never got it.

I don't see why that would change anything anyways. Why does it make it obsolete because you could end up in a new server? That is who you started out as and where so at least you have something to remind you where you started.

Maybe they will allow you to buy one in the future. Don't hold your breath though. Perhaps the PS3 and re-release of the pc version may allow you to have them then as well.

Character Names
After the merge, if two or more characters with the same first and last name exist in the same World, only one character can keep the name, based on the order of priority below.

1. Characters that are playable on both March 26 (Monday) and March 27 (Tuesday), 2012.
2. Characters that were created first.

I'm assuming if you have the CE that you made your character ASAP especially since its the name that's on the certificate. It would probably be very unlikely that your name was taken if it's something you made up.

Honest truth? I paid for it, and after that rough start I was damn well going to milk Square Enix for every dollar I spent on that CE, heehee. Somebody had to take the time and effort to mail it to me, muah ha ha.
