SB and The Rising reusing older assets for glamours

With the way SE dipped into the 1.0 pool with the White Ravens and Manderville earrings... At this rate do you think we will get to the old "Dated" item sets getting reused by the end of this expansion or in 5.0?

Apparently nothing is off limits.

But giving out dated gear might let people make like a Papalymo glamour without buying it on the mogstation so they probably wouldn't do that.

I still have lots of my 1.0 gear and items, including some Dated stuff, they should add it to a vendor for purchase so others can set their characters up like 1.0!

It'd be efficient to unlock more items from 1.0 over time. The assets already exist in the game's files and it'd help beef up the number of glamour possibilities.

Character customization in v1 was even more basic than today. There weren't sliders or anything, just choose 1 2 or 3 preset and go. What made them look good was the lighting, the physics and the increased detail. But that all came at a cost.

As for assets I do believe a lot of them carried over. I know a lot of the dated gear I still own we have current counterparts too, just the color is different due to loosing v1 colors. We lost belts too since those used to be displayed on our char and no longer do. Other than that it was mostly a loss in texture which they could bring back with an HD option. I know many of us definitely have PCs that are more than capable. As it is now the game on highest settings barely has any more effect on my PC than a browser.

I think dated gear is the old gear back from when any class could wear anything. So if you still have it you could wear armor on a mage, I think.

I only have like a metal shield that my WHM can wear that the equivalent can't be worn. But WHM doesn't even use shields anymore. :|

Even better: remove class restrictions on gear for glamour purposes.

I have my weathered gear from starting up... as an ALC. It'll eventually be my crafting glam once I get unlazy to craft and level it.

Re-using old gear is going to be more common I guess as we go forward, since more and more players don't have access to those items.
Any re-using of gear to be cross class or class job will probably involve some kind of immense drop or it will be tied to low rarity, like the best glam items.
Like the Anemos gear.
