Materia build for level 70 crafter

I'm level 70 crafter meaning I have all the crafting skills at 70. What I would like to know is what materia should I have in my gear which is the body(head, body,hands,etc..) to be able to craft HQ items, especially to be able to make NQ starting mats HQ. I have mostly the Handking accessories and the general class body "armor". Tried once to craft nightsteel ingots starting with HQ mats, failed. Replies will be appreciated.

When you say "general class body armor" is that the scrip gear? and which tier? Depending on your gear, melding may or may or may not make much difference. If your goal is to craft nightsteel ingots HQ from NQ mats, you are going to need the crafted gear and a ton of expensive overmelds.

First, handking accessories are inferior to minimally melded gazelleskin, let alone slothskin / silvergrace.

Second, What is the rest of your gear?

You will be able to HQ without pricey melds in either the Ala Mhigan or Yamashi sets, see other threads under Jobs, DoH. But we can't advise you on melds without knowing your gear.

OK, the 340 armor works. I can show you my melds BUT:
Handking's Earring
CP +50
Craftsmanship +10

My silvergrace earring:
CP 49 + 14
Craft 9 + 16
Cont + 14
