What's the point of always "changing" the tomestones?

I did read somewhere on reddit that the names are in relation with the big boss of the moment. For example mendacity are tied to Kefka for obvious reasons. I didn't bother to check all the others names to see if it is a valid theory though.

I saw that which obviously hints that we'll have FF7 bosses in Alphascape :/ much disappointment
