Suggestion for 5.0 - Place lvl 30 ability on job stone

We've all been synced down below lvl 30 and know how weak certain classes can feel. Tanks don't have their tank stances, dps don't have certain abilities. This could all be fixed by placing abilities on the job stone that you always have available when it's equipped.

This would also encourage people to actually equip their job stones at level 30.

    This would give:

    PLD - Shield Oath
    WAR - Defiance
    DRK - Grit
    WHM - Pressence of Mind
    SCH - Adloquium
    AST - Diurnal Sect
    BLM - Convert
    SMN - Summon 3
    RDM - Verstone
    BRD - Mage's Ballad
MCH - Hot Shot (or Rapid Fire)
    SAM - Gekko
    MNK - Rockbreaker
    DRG - Jump
    NIN - Ninjutsu (Ten)

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

Or...you know as soon as you hit level 30 and unlock the job. SE can just automatically make you equip your job crystal like the new jobs do.

There is no reason to be a class, nor punish players for a bad(extinct) system from 1.0

Another thing I would like to add is adding a level limit to classes that way newbs have to unlock their jobs to level pass 30.

THIS! A thousand times this. Classes officially end at 30 as far as quests/guilds go and they should be capped at that level as well. There's no reason not to do this. With the soon-approaching Role Action changes (equip cap lifted for jobs) there is no point in using classes at all (not that having 10 Role Actions was ever a reason to play a class). The only thing classes provide post 30 is a self-imposed challenge which makes for interesting YouTube videos but definitely wouldn't be missed I'm sure.

This, mandatory novice hall/guildhests before you can do your first dungeon, and a story/quest lock past 30 on your current class until you do your job quest would be a nice touch.

Bright, they mean if you sync below 30, you should still get access to those abilities at least.

Edit: Actually wait. I dunno why they said "encourage" job stones at 30. Considering those abilities are on the job stone at 30...

Nice idea but I doubt the Devs would be willing to put new players at such disadvantage.

Although I guess they already are with sync'd players likely being at ilevel cap for them dungeons.

You don’t need most of those skills at low levels though. (And I think RDM would need both-or-neither matching elemental spells to keep balance.)

In any case, I’m fairly sure that the way to make skills available in low level dungeons would be to make them job skills, but “learned at Lv15” so they just pop into existence on your skill list when you equip the soulstone.

While the intent is good, the suggestion is overall badly thought out.

Tanks - Handling enmity pre Haukke is absolutely not a challenge, even if you lack your enmity combo finsher. What players learn here is moderate usage of Flash, Overpower and Unleash while using their 1-2 combos. Allowing tank stances pre 30 by having your jobstone not only is a crutch for ppl who cant use their basic kit, it disadvantages players who do not have their job stones yet.

Healers - Presence, Adlo and Diurnal are by far the least needed abilities in early content given the potent heals of Cure, having Eos on SCH and Essential Dignity on AST. Their base heals alone are overkill sometimes pre haukke, so there is no need.

DPS - Jump, Convert, Ten / Fuma, Rock Breaker, Ifrit egi and Hot Shot play no real role other than being an extra damage button at 30 and being lower than that wont make you miss em dearly. Verstone is an oddshot, but given Jolt it should not be missed either. Gekko is at 30 because of Iaijutsu, enabling the first Sen "Getsu" and thus Higanbana.

As much as I try to sympathize, I can't.

The only thing encouraging players to unlock their jobs as early as possible and equipping their job stone would be a level cap of 30 for combat classes.

Beside this, most of the skills are just "not usefull" below level 30 and wont mitigate the feeled weakness.

    Also what Reinhardt said.
