That makes zero sense. Treasure fates have nothing to do with anything and your mount is useless while chaining. I will give you that it's slightly easier to participate in NMs, but how does that make chaining more enjoyable? You were taking breaks from it to go after NMs in any case, but now the break is shorter.

No, it doesn't. If you're going for more than one, you'd then be leveling > light farm > light farm. However you want to look at it, you're tacking on basically every bit as much mob grinding to the end of your leveling by choosing to just run the train to 35. It really doesn't make sense for people who hate mob grinding to be totally OK with light farming as long as it can be done at level 35. It just makes the whole thing take longer without actually preventing a substantial amount of grinding.

Or maybe it's the fact that none of us were complaining about the amount of work (as we've been trying to say the whole time). We were complaining about how mind-numbing it is. If I can get to 35 in a fraction of the time it would have taken, then when I'm in one portion of the map when an NM is called in another portion, I have a significantly better chance of getting there, which means I'm more likely to break up my chaining to go to it. If I'm 35, then I don't mind participating in the bunny fates of no XP because I have a (slightly) better chance of not being slaughtered when I get to the area my NPC pet leads me. Plus, once there are a lot more 35s in a zone, the NM train will pick up, because it's going to be easier to mass-slaughter the enemies needed to spawn NMs - and at that point I can help others, since I can't do it by chaining, because they'll lose xp.

If you're trying to put numbers to all of this, then yes. Your math is correct. However, I'd much rather do 10 hours of something that's 50% fun than 7 hours of something that's 0% fun.

Besides, I don't even care about the relic; I'll get it, some day. But I have better access to the drops I wanted now, I can try to get the emote and more of the crafting materials to make shirts for my FC-mates.

What I'm getting out of this is that players are easily distracted by superficial changes and that the biggest problem with Pagos perhaps wasn't really Pagos, but simply the manner in which it was presented. If it hadn't been presented as a monolithic and monotonous grind, then even if it was a monolithic and monotonous grind, players would be more accepting of it.

The emote comes from farming mutating mobs (ie chaining), by the way.

I can agree with the distracted part - but I also think most of us aren't distracted. I'm already advocating for people not to ignore the fact that all they did was give us back what we already had and haven't actually fixed any of the issues. I'm going to continue to ask SE to give us something meaningful next time. But at this point I can at least enjoy myself to an extent.
